JC 60 Twin
I have been looking for a thread that has information about this JC evo 60 Twin. I found threads talking about this new engine and the spec's but nothing out there on what RPM's this engine turns with different props. I just got this engine in last week and mounted it to a test stand. I had to gap the spark plugs because they where not right. I also had to open up the low end to get it to start. Once I had it running the engine performed very well. I have a 22x10 VV wood prop on it and I am getting a good 1700 rpm at low end. I did four 10 minute runs and I went to high end for a few seconds and got 6800RPM. No to bad for the first run. I will drill out a 20x10 MAS I have using my DLE-55 drill guide and see how well it does. I plan on using this engine on a 91" Gee Bee Model Y. Here is a pic of the engine & plane.

Nice looking model Y. I hope to have fine finished by the end of summer. Mine Is a Ikon Kit that I got off of e-bay and it is just a box or wood parts right now. I hope to have the JC Twin 60 broken in some by the time I do the maiden. Post some video of yours when you fly it I would like to see how well the BME 60 twin pulls the plane.

Got to fly the Gee Bee once today, got the field ( I just joined today ) around noon ( had to stay with the kids till then ) and after chatting with the boys for some time I got it ready for the engine run up, first things first, I wanted to make sure the engine was going to run fine and at the same time learn the the way it behaves, I also got help from one of the mambers that has flown gas before ( thanks Mike ) he helped me understand and explanied how the engine runs, we got the engine to run really good on the ground.
Tach was showing. 1500-1600 for the best idle and 5Ks for the top end. the needles were adjusted very little to get these results.
During the test flight I was fighting a climbing tendency that I could not fix with the elevator trim, the Ailerons did not needed any triming but the climbing was bad so bad that the elevator trim was all the way down and in order to fly her level I had to push down during level flights and keep the throttle stick to a 1/4 or less, so after a few minutes of flying like that I decided to bring her in for a landing ( CG is right where it was when flown before by my friend the previous owner )
The landing was good. no damage and she came in very slow, one small bounce that was it.

Great looking plane. I really like your engine and the angles spark plugs. The plugs on the JC 60 Twin come straight out but I know they will still fit inside the cowl. Next time you fly your Gee Bee Model Y try and get some video. My Gee Bee will not be ready for w while because it is still pieces in a box right now. I hope to be flying it by next spring.

I crashed mine a few years ago and moved the electrics and 40cc engine to a Giant Aeromaster I had. I do remember buying my Giles 202 from AK Models. It was a CMP kit and I have not seen it on any web page for a couple of years. You could call Andy at AK Models and he might be able to help you. Good Luck
