Default Best size prop for a Zenoah G20.

What size prop works best for general sport flying on a Zenoah G20 engine.

I use 17X6 or 17X8N. Regular 17X8 works, but the plane is more difficult to slow down. 16X8 is fast with not as much "pull".

I myself would say 16x8 as that is what I have used. But lately it has been recommended to change over to 17x6 . Try both, then what makes you happy, stay with it, and you will always have an extra prop, which I am sure all of us are happy to have.

I like the extra grunt offered by the 6" of pitch, so it would be 17x6 for me as well.

for sport flying the best prop that I have tried is the Vess 16b It seems to fit the sweet spot of RPM and power on the g20

Went flying today and a Xoar 16x6 seemed to perform just a bit better than the 17x6

That's the way it goes: the best prop is the one that flies the plane to your satisfaction.

Try a 17x6 APC.

Since my right hand came in contact with a 14" APC prop that was vigorously defending it's air space a few years ago I have gone exclusively to using wood props.
