TF P-47 .60 DLE-20 or GT22?
I have an OS GT22 and a DLE-20 (Side exhaust) and am currently building the Top Flite .60 P-47 Kit.
The kit will have air retracts and a non retractable tail wheel (At this stage).
I have heard reports of these Jugs flying well with a .60 2 stroke with basic scale accessories. However I have both the above engines new in box and they need a home.
The DLE stock muffler is in a bad spot imho for the jug as it would exit the cowl about halfway with an extension.
The GT22 has the factory wraparound Pitts style muffler.
It's hard to find reliable prop info on the GT22. As in tach readings at what elevation on what brand prop etc etc.
(That I can find anyway)
What engine would you guys run and why?
Please no brand bashing.
Just after some pro's and con's I guess

I also have Top Flite P-47 , mine is the ARF version, currently it is flying with an OS 91 4 strokes, the 91 is a perfect match for it but since I'm getting into gas now I want to conver it to gas, when I do it I will go with the DLE 20re, like you I don't like the idea of cutting the cowl on the side. The DLE 20 has been proven that it is a good match for any 60 size airplane.
