There was so much to do and still running around here trying to figure out just whats what. The wife took care of all the book keeping and I am lost.
But with some time and phone calls I will manage I hope.
Good Luck with the flight Capt'n It is 1 degree here right now and supposed to snow this week end Just what I need.

Nice hearing from you Richard. We all know that it's gonna take quite awhile for this dust to settle so just take your time getting things back on track and stay strong.

Thanks Capt . I have gotten some work done and am very pleased with the results so far, but of course the running of the engines will be the icing on the cake. Which will happen this week I hope, but with everything that has happened here plus the holiday my plate is full.
I did discovery this I had a brand new never ran ring for a Mintor 33 so for kicks I installed it and got very little compression.so little the engine would not pop thru compression and bounce back. I played with it for some time to make some wear marks on it to look at. What I found was a joke the ring had high spots a wide ring gap a slight ridge on one edge, which would have worn away if the high spots had not of been there. As it was I have my doubts the engine would have ran let alone hand start. Anyway I changed the ring out to a Bowman ring I had ordered and it came alive. W/O running it has more compression than most well broken in engine's have. I have used Franks Rings exclusively for many years now, but this was the most noticeable change I think I have seen.

I have a mintor 110 here that has a bad cyclinder and piston. Cylinder is a chrome liner or nickel liner one or the other. Cylinder also has a sleeve in it that is alum but you can see where it meets up. Piston is junk. Rest of the motor is good. If someone needs a motor for parts I will sell it that way which it isn't worth a lot. Would also consider fixing it if the price wasn't too bad. Would rather just sell it for parts tho so if someone needs it email me [email protected] thanks

Well, I got my engine back Monday and got it put back on the plane last night. I can say this... this engine has never had this much compression in it's life! Not sure when I will get around to running it with me being out of town this weekend and next week, but I will give a report when I do. Thanks again Richard!

Karol, I did get a chance to fly today. It was only about 34 degrees, but the engine did not mind...it ran perfect. The new improved throttle arm really worked good too. I could get my Mintor 22 to the right exact RPM to do 3 point landings. I wanted to fly longer, but my feet was turning numb from the cold ground. I sure wish I was in a warm climate, I would fly a lot more 4 sure ! Take Care Capt,n

UPDATE.... Well here it is Dec 23/2014 & I got a chance to fly my Pro 260 with the Mintor 22 cc engine. It ran real good. I tried a experiment and placed one turn of silver duct tape a around the top fins on the top of the cyl. It helped as the temp ran up more where it should be. I checked the temps quite often to make sure. Wish I was in Florida...would be flying a lot more. Merry Christmas, Capt,n.
