Default What is a BME50?

What brand of engine block is a BME 50 classic.? I thought it was an ECHO but it's not. Need a crank for one and I've gotten cranks for other engines from Ebay if I knew what it was.. Thanks, Paul

The BME 50 was a conversion of the ECHO 50 engine and was marketed by ....... yup, BME.

EchoCs510 chainsaw. 1055 is the shortblock. About 200 online at various places for a shortblock. Crank by itself is 199 list price and is usually about 160..plus you need the bearings and seals... Better to buy a shortblock and transfer the prop driver and carb on and go fly... Also branded as shindawa and i think they also did a few for saws sears under the craftsman name. But it is a echo..

Looked at the picture of an Echo CS 510 EVL crankcase assembly for a chainsaw and the crankshaft saddle is not in the head like the BME. It is separate. The head looks a bit different too. I found a real picture of a crank assembly for the CS 510 and I will pull out the BME crank and compare them. I know one side of crank is cut off outside of rear bearing. Just trying to save some money here! Paul

The parent company is Kioritz but in the USA they are ECHO.

Shindaiwa is part of Kioritz or at least they merged one way or the other.

It might be a 520 and not the 510?

It is not current production. All the current 50cc engines have the separate cylinder/crankcase.

I have a BME 50 - they are nice 50 cc model engines.

I agree it would probably be better to buy the 1050 short block.

I talked to RC Ignitions. He will straighten the crank cheaper than I can replace it. Thanks for the info. Pa
