Truckracer - Thanks for your advice. I got a chance to fly the plane with your recommendation of using a pill bottle on the end of the air intake line. It worked liked a charm. The DLE-85 had all the power as advertised and it flew my PT-19 (25 lbs) with no problems, Still being a brand new DLE-85, I still have to make a few high and low end adjustments, but there was no engine bog down what so ever.

Thanks again!
Keith

I forgot to mention, be sure the pill bottle isn't completely air tight. It needs at least a pin hole in it so it can breath a bit.

Well I know it's been awhile, but I finally have been able to test run and fly my WH Edge with the DLE 85. So far it's been one of the easiest starting (even the very first startup) engines I have owned. The vibration isn't bad for a big single, and I'm not using the rubber mount system supplied.
Plenty of power to vertical the old Edge (26 lbs) well past 400 ft! So far I'm a happy camper!

Good to hear the 85 runs well. I found the 85 a very enjoyable engine to own and operate. It exceeded my expectations.

K10-WJ

If you have the DLE carb, it is a clone of the Walbro WJ71. Later engines probably have a real Walbro WJ71.

I've run my DLE 85 on both the DLE clone carb and the Walbro WJ71. They are almost an exact copy of each other and are directly interchangeable. You may have to fashion a throttle arm for the WJ71 but that is normal. Even DA that also uses the WJ71 on the DA 100 and 120 make their own arms for the carb. An easy task. I currently use the DLE carb on my engine as it has a bit better throttle response than the WJ71.

Do you know the reed valve petals for DLE 111 fit to DLE 85? couldn't fine any where all out of stock until late march.
