20-26 cc gas engine -recommendation?
I have ordered one of the new Seagull (SIG) Jungmeister ARTFs
I was thinking of a DLE 20RA - the rear exhaust seems as if it will fit particularly well
However I have just noticed the RCG 20 and 26 cc available from Hobby King. The 26 seems very cheap and swings a largish prop -ideal with a big radial cowl.
Anybody care to give me some recommendations for an engine this size?

I'm a fan of the RCGF engines.
Regarding that 26, it's an older design so it's going to be a little heavier than the latest and greatest (heavier than the DLE 30 if I remember right). Although mine has been fine, there are also some people that have had trouble with the prop hub on that engine. Other than that it's a great engine that does a nice job with an 18" prop.
The 20cc RCG beam mount engine is identical to an RCGF engine - the difference being, there is very little (might as well say none) customer service available from HK should you have an issue of any kind with it. For most, this makes the difference in price RCG vs. RCGF worth what it cost to get the RCGF from a full service dealer.

My experiance with Hobby King has been less than stellar and having to deal with China (slow boat?) in my opinion is not the best of circumstances. Valley View is in the Seattle area and will do what is necessary there
and they have a great reputation of doing the right thing by customers. Comparing their engines with DLE, there is really not much difference other than cost. We have both at our club...........so a side by side is easy to do!

Valley View and DLE 20cc are great and reliable engines and you couldn't go wrong on getting either one. I really like the OS GT-22 which is a great engine and very reliable but expensive. If you can, buy it from Tower Hobbys. They have the best customer service if needed. Stay away from the rcg 20 Hobby King engine.

I don't think you guys have noticed my address
Anything direct from the US has huge freight charges (I am not sure why when from China they throw the post in for free) so VV are out and I can't find a local source for RGCF
so that seems to narrow it down to RGC (not sure how different this to RGCF) from Hobby King's UK warehouse or DLE.
I am inclining to the latter despite it being about 60% more

I have both, and they're the same in my experience. To the point RCG product is often received in RCGF packaging. The difference is support. If you think you may need it, for warranty, tech advice, whatever, consider buying from somebody that provides it. HK does not (not in a timely manner anyway - they are OK on warranty if you have the time and patience to deal with them). it's that simple.
I do all of my own work, so to me, if I can get something cheap enough to gamble it's going to arrive in functional condition, I'm money ahead. It's up to you.

I got one of the cheap RCGF 26's from Hobby King. It's mounted on a Seagull Models Laser 200. I'm using a APC 18-8 prop and getting 8,000 RPM. I didn't like the supplied muffler so I made my own. I read all the TRASH comments that some people on this forum love to make and took mine apart and mine has FAG bearings in it. I have over 50 flights on it so far and it keeps getting stronger.

I have the same setup and mine weighs 14 lbs and fly's very scale like. Funny how we miss the small details like where you live. Ooops

Recently got an RCGF from BP Hobbies. $179. Started easy, good idle, turns a Master Airscrew 16-8 three blade prop 8,100 to 8,200 rpm. I used a pitts muffler I already had and works great. A little heavier than some of the newer engines, but I needed the weight anyway. Only about 10 flights on it but ok so far.
