Default C&H module for a Brison 50cc

Afternoon all,

We have a Brison 50 cc engine with a C&H ignition module that seems to have gone bad. The engine was rebuilt by BJ Engines after a crash last year and was returned in running condition. We had it at the field last week and it began to misfire and finally quit completely. Batteries are good and so are the switches but there is no spark at all. The module was rebuilt in 2006 and has had at least one bad crash I know of since that time. BJ Engines isn't doing any more work now and C&H is on vacation. We've been unable to find a replacement source to get this engine running again. Any ideas for a new C&H module or something else we can plug into this engine and use? No problem if we need to send it off to get set up but so far no one will admit to being able to do so. Since it has just been rebuilt and has been such a good motor we'd like to keep using it instead of buying something new. Any ideas? Thanks.

Rick H.

You dont mention whether the engine is mechanical advance or Synchro spark but it can be replaced with an Rcexl ignition in either case , just a little more work if it is mechanical advance.
The Rcexl and the C&H are very similar if not identical internally although the pick up sensors may use different connectors and mounting methods. There are several vendors for Rcexl or Rcxp that can help you out with a kit that will fit the Brison

You can get CH ignitions from Bill Jensen or RCXps from Milton Thompson at rcextreme.com. Dan.
