I have looked through the forums and search engines and could not fined an answer for my question. I made some changes on my stick airplane powered by a DLE 20cc engine and took off with the ailerons reversed and trimmed several fins off the motor during the following crash. While looking for a replacement cylinder I came across replacement cylinders for DLE 20cc RA engines. I know engines built for side exhaust cannot be rotated but can a different cylinder on the same crankcase work? Is there something I am missing about maybe the crankcases could be different

The crankcases are quite a bit different between the two engines so no, a simple piston / cylinder swap won't work.

The clearance for the intake port transfers are in the wrong place on the crankcase.
