Default early XYZ 50cc. I need a carb adapter plate.

I can't get fuel in this thing. The engine starts but will not run. The carb adapter is cracked and |i cannot get it to seal correctly. I put a walbro carb on it but it doesn't have a choke. I can't seem to keep the fuel going in.

Take the old one to a local machinist and see if a replacement can be made.

Check the Walbro site and focus on replacements, check out small engine shops for used items. These things mostly are similar and you may well find a good used one?

Whatever you come up with, it must isolate the carb from the engine heat. You can make one out of a material called G-10, available from McMaster Carr.

The cracked adapter will cause the fuel pump in the carb to not work due to no pulse delivered to it. Fix the adapter and it should then run, if the pump diaphragm is not dried out/warped. That is easy to fix.

Most carb adapters are made from Bakelite, more expensive ones are made from G-10. Some one here on RCU said that some divider panels between urinals in public bathrooms is Bakelite material. Try a scrap yard for some, and make a new adapter for yourself. You will have enough material to make hundreds for your friends also. G-10 (glass epoxy) laminate is what a lot of PC boards are made of. If you have some, laminate the thickness you need and make your adapter. You can make the pulse hole in the interior layer(s) to be moved where ever you need to rotate the carb as required. Epoxy the layers together after machining the pulse trace,. making sure the pulse trace hole is not clogged by the epoxy. Good luck.
