Default was the 15/20cc craz really that big ?

so really, what happen, there has been no new quality 15 to 20cc size engines popping up in the last 2 or 3 years, yes I am leaving OS out of my thoughts on this, I have read too many complaints about their 15,, so if the craz was so big why didn't the big boys jump in on this,, I would not mind buying a quality 20cc gasser for my P-40 if there was one on the market, (the Zenoah wont fit in my P-40 without a lot of cutting)

Well what constitutes quality? The DLE 20 in its current form is very reliable and has excellent power all in a low cost package. If you want high rpm operation, there is always the Zenoah.

"better" I guess

I have a Zenoah G20, as I said, to fit it I will have to do a lot of cutting

Might be time to review your take on "quality/better"? A lot of us have been flying the DLE, RCGF, and Valleyview 20cc engines for a while now (I've been flying them since first introduced without a failure of any kind yet), and getting outstanding performance from them. The newest generation, with rear exhaust, fit a wide array of planes with just a minimum amount of cowl cutting. They're light weight, easy to handle, and especially in the case of the DLE, there's very little competition from a power to weight perspective.

RCGF has a 15 beam mount that seems to be doing a pretty good job as well.

oh I should have known better,

Might be time to review your take on "quality/better"?
really ? me ? so with your statements, you think> "any engine that runs good for a given amount of time is a quality engine" you should test my MVVS 35 against the DLE, RCGF 35's

hopefully we can get back on topic now

I'm not quite sure why you bothered to ask for opinions.I guess opinions from those of us who enjoy the easy handling, reliable operation and excellent power of engines like the DLE20 don't account for much.

I'll be sure not to respond next time.

Can't really recommend much to someone with their mind made up that anything but engines based on old lawn equipment tech is crap...

putting words in my mouth wont help ether, I guess you didn't read what I said about my MVVS 35, in fact you must not have even ever seen one, it surly was not based on old lawn equipment, it was based from Glow Engines

I'm not quite sure why you bothered to ask for opinions

If you didn't want to consider Chinese engines in your idea of a discussion regarding 20cc engines, maybe you'll mention more complete criteria next time.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will enjoy what has become one of the more popular class of engines ever.

Sorry to have wasted your (our) time.

Well if you had stated that in your first post you could have saved us all a bit of time.

Good day and happy flying!

Who are the "Big Boys"?
the Privet believes any answer he gives will be considered unacceptable and the senior Drill Sergeant will chastise him all night, until morning, so the Privet disrespectfully refuse's to answer the question
