Default Walbro carb issue!

Here's one for ya guys...fellow club member has a new G62 in a TF giant P-47 not yet test flown because after running engine on the ground for a few minutes the throttle binds up just enough to not idle down. We disconnected the arm from the servo and you can feel the resistance as the butterfly reaches the closed position. We've not heard back from B&B where the engine was purchased. Thoughts anyone?

Did you remove the return spring or alter the arms on the carb in any way? If so this could be the source of the problem. Also check to see if the throttle plate retainrr screw is tight and that the plate is well centered in the carb bore.

I believe it has not been changed from the way it came from B&B, this is the Bennett- built version. I'll check with him and see if he's changed anything...thanks Truckracer

What about the idle stop screw? Do they still come with those?

If the throttle stop screw isn't the issue, it probably is and should be removed. The throttle butterfly may be misaligned in the bore . Remove the carb . Slightly loosen but do not remove the butterfly screw (1/4 to 1/2 turn )and recenter the butterfly .The stamped divet in the butterfly should contact the throttle shaft . Rotate the butterfly until it does. Be sure to Retighten the butterfly screw after adjustment .
