Default muffler for rcs 180

I am asking for a friend. neither one of us has any experience with this engine.

what mufflers, pipes, cans, etc are available for this engine? and where can I find them. he would like to keep most of the muffler in the cowl.

thanks for any help

RC Showcase has mufflers available for this engine, whether side or rear exhaust.

Anything that will fit a Moki 1.80 will fit a RCS 1.80...(same bolt pattern)

I got mine at Bison....check out their line, they offer many different styles other than just the Pitts....

That's because the RCS 1.80 is a Moki 1.80.

You can always buy from a supplier across the pond... http://www.zdz-motor.de/index.html?lang=en-us
direct link: MOKI Engines

They have the front-carbed 1.8 gassers listed for $282.
They have the rear-carbed 1.8 gassers listed for $305.

You'll have no one to contact for service in the States should something go wrong, tho.

Brother has one with a Sato 180 4cycle on his, can't believe it calls for a 120???? Flys OK on the sato. I flown it and it seemed tobe lacking on power?..... hope I have better results. Thank I,m going fishing, l hear that the rcs180 makes a good trot line Waite. Also, if some collector is interested, I have an Maloney 100 that has never been mounted, I'd like to get read of! Also have an Ohio RC 75in -300 ultimate, wing's built by a master builder, fuse started on, like to trade for a Great Plane's 80in stick, (new or in good shape) leave me a post.

Slamn Sammy,
I just bumped on your post here, I have 4 Airworld Moki 30cc's that are the original European flavour of the RCS 180's:

If you still have it and need some help, or if you are selling / trading it drop me a line.

Sorry, it's gone. Hope you have better luck with yours. What can I help you with? The RCS 180 is like my old Murray Loan mower, Fuel, Fire, NO Run? On the high side, Man that Chipmunk with the DLE 35ra will run and hide! I was flying it with a 18X10 prop and on landing, sometimes the prop will hit the ground (SHORT LANDEN GEAR) I installed a 16X10 three blade prop and that thing will accelerate in the vertical and I bet it's running 180 MPH in level flight! Highly recommend the DLE 35 Ra and a 118X10 or for better performance, the 16X10 three blade prop, (Just don't hold at full throttle for long so you will not over speed the endine)

Well I think one problem for slamm_sammy was that RCS went out of business a few years before he made his post. So now the engines are orphaned. There probably was no one on the forum at the time who knew about the engines. I had thought that ZDZ was the maker of the RCS engines, but now I guess Moki was behind them both. But using the DLE35 looks like a much better idea in my opinion.

Moki's, MVVS are on the opposite side of the engine design spectrum from DLE's, RCG's, etc.

They are compact, heavy, expensive, and will last a lifetime. They have suited me very well as they fit in narrow warbird cowls, e.g. Spitfire.

If you come across one please drop me a line

Regards,
Nick

I do like MVVS engines and I have several of them in both glow and gasoline versions and displacements. I even have the water cooled 58cc gas engine too.

Nice!

I have an MVVS 35cc still in the box, the one with the twin magnet arrangement - I believe they are discontinued now
