mKlarich;
Try a Super Tigre needle. I have one that fits the bigger Saitos. Already has a long taper. I don't know if it will hit the low side adjustment in the spraybar when idled down though. But if the point sticks in that far I suspect it's way inside the seat and any area where it would serve any purpose and some of the end could be removed I think, but haven't verified this. The knurled knob can be relocated on the needle's shaft by pressing it to where ever you need it to engage the spring on the carb to hold adjustment. Have you had any issues with bearings seals or heat?

Interesting Thread. Seems many people are thinking that the market is ready for gas 4-strokes. Here is one that I am working on, and contemplating conversions for. It is going to take some refinement, but if I can turn an 18-6 to around 6,500 then I think it is worth investigating further. Ultimately I think the flywheel has got to go and an electronic ignition would be added. The question is, what would modelers be willing to pay for a small gas 4-stroke. You can buy a Zenoah G-26 for around $275. Would the 4-stroke bring the same price?

RE: Gas 4 strokes?
just a quick line.
AMEN. dark ages, exactly
when will the geared gas turbines be more than esoteric show pieces??.....the turbine is my suggestion for power:weight, efficiency (for now), maintainability (once commonplace), etc. And it is very much scalable down because of the few moving parts. so as the other stuff shrinks to one chip of silicon, so can our fossil-fuel burner!

The Saito has the uniblock as you state, but it has enough compression to begin with (9.5 vs 7.5 for Honda)

RE: Gas 4 strokes -
I'm surprised none of you guys have mentioned the Mackay (RCS) 45 VT . As shown below in my 1.5 size Acrowot.
You should also check out this link http://www.moki.co.uk/50-4S.htm.
This is a purpose built electronic ignition petrol engine. The one I have has to be the easiest starting gas engine that I have and it seems to run forever on a 16oz tank.
Mine has had about 20 flights now and is turning a Menz 20 x 8 at about 6800.
Any more info , just ask

RE: Gas 4 strokes -
It's just a question of WHEN rather than if.
Big boxer 4 strokes - fuel injection..............I can't wait.
RCS / Moki should defo bring out a 100cc flat twin using the 50VT top ends.
Could do with enclosing the rockers though, but wouldn't put me off buying one.
