RE: Zenoah GT-80 info
Get rid of the stock exhaust, try B&B or other NON RESTRICTIVE system or header pipes. Prop for OVER 7500 RPM. If you prop like a 3W at 6000 to 6500 you won't be happy with the performance. They pull very well with a set up mentioned above....

I run a 24 - 10 bolly prop 2 blade and get 7000 rpm. A very reliable and good performing engine. Not as powerful as some others out there but then one doesn't have hassle of maintaining an ignition battery. My friend has his in a 1/4 scale La-7 and flies great at 31 lbs.

RE: Zenoah GT-80 info
We run stock GT80 engines in 100 inch GR7 formula one race planes, using a small diameter prop to turn about 9000...The radar speed of the planes is over 150 mph..Hopped up GT80s on methanol and nitro are clocked at 180+ mph, some are turning 12,000 rpm...The only competition not much) is from some Q75s running up to 50% nitro....I think the props are 19x18.....

RE: Zenoah GT-80 info
On my GT-80 I have used the following props.
MenzS 28x8
MenzS 26x6
MenzS 24x10 (67-6800rpm)
MenzU 22x12 3-blade (6600rpm)
Of all the props the last two gave the best performance.
I know that many people say no to prop the engine for low rpmĀ“s, but where I fly (Denmark) we have a max noiselimit of 94dB measured at 3 meter (10ft), and for the engine to get below that limit you have to run it at rather low rpmĀ“s.
