rcs 180 vs. zdz40
I am looking for opinions on the difference between the rcs motor and the zdz. they look like they were built on the same design. Weight and hp close to the same. I am wanting to put one of these on a H9 cap 73". Ok now speak up I would like some honest opinions.
Thanks

You are right. The design is pretty similar - rotary intake, rear induction. Different manufacturers though. The RCS is made by Moki (Hungary) - not the Moki glow engine manufacturer. The ZDZ is made in the Czech Republic. I think the weight of the RCS 1.8 is about the same as the ZDZ 2.4. I'd pick the bigger motor based on power/weight.

The RCS engines are quite nice and if you are not trying to maximize weight/power, you will like it.
The little ZDZ40 is pretty much in a class by itself,as an aerobatic engine.
It handles bigger props -which IS the test of an aerobatic powerplant, better than any of the competition -
At least that is what I have found.
