Default ZDZ 80 header for MVVS 58

I have a header for a ZDZ 80 and was wondering if it would fit on the MVVS 58. The flange bolt holes are 50 mm apart, and the exhaust port is 36mm by 15mm. Any MVVS 58 owners ( or Evolution 58) out their with these dimensions. Also will be using the JMB 80/70/300 can.

The best place to compare header flange sizes is http://www.krumscheid-metallwaren.de...op.php?lang=EN . They have flanges available for most engines, and have diagrams with the dimensions for each one. The ZDZ 80 looks too big to me to adapt to the MVVS measurements. Attached are the images and dimensions for both from their site.

The flange for the zdz60 is very close to fit the mvvs58. I adapted a header for the zdz60 to be used on the mvvs58. If you can get a krumscheib flange for the zdz60 and solder it to your existing header, bingo.

If you send Krumscheid an e-mail or call them, I'll bet they would add the MVVS header parts to their catalog.

Hello McFly.... Read post #2. I just posted the Krumscheid link and part number for the MVVS 58 flange if he wants to order from KS. They also make pre-made headers in various shapes and types...straight, flex, etc. for the MVVS 58.

I think if I mill the bolt holes on the ZDZ 80 header by 2mm in on each side I can get it to work (just). The exhaust port will be a little wide but should not hurt performance, as long as I still get a good seal. If no go I will order one when I order the Engine. Thank ya........

McFly,
Did you try milling in those flanges already? If not, I can assure you they are bloody hard material. I have tryed to file and drill in those things, and it is some tuff stuff.

Hi DKjens,

I can't help but laugh, not at you, but at how written communication gets twisted. My "Hello McFly" above was a reference to Back to the Future, I wasn't calling Flip and Fly "McFly", though I can see how you would have misunderstood it. I was just making a joke about you and Diablo posting info that I had just posted a couple of posts before. We do have to be careful what we write, don't we?

....and yes, DKjens, I'll second on the hard material. I bet Dick Hanson has an answer for that one. I just use a Dremel with a grinding bit, since I don't have the right tools to drill that hard of material.

Some hobby shops as well as some tool sales, stock jars full of 1/8" diameter shank, millling tools. These are 1/16" dia to 1/8".
These are used in automatic milling tools and the ones I have seen are surplus or used.
In either case, they are cheap and plenty sharp for our use in working wood, ferrous and non ferrous metals.
They readily trim the exhaust flange plates.
The best hand power tool on the market -in my book is the B&D (Black and Decker) - far superior to any of the stuff sold by Dr----
Also they have better locking collet ,far more power and a warrenty that is too good to be true. and cost less money.
On max speed, this combo will trim harder grades of steel - not tool steel but anything we use .
