Ralph Cunningham does these. His RCU ID is RCIGN1. Last I heard his g26 conversion was 150 bucks but I not really sure on the 62. Shoot him a PM. He's usually pretty quick to respond

The conversion is about the same cost. I recently had one converted by Ralph and I am very pleased. The weight is 4lbs4oz with ignition and plug. Not to bad for and old industrial engine.

I choose the mechanical advance, the reasoning is that it will have a more linear response than any electronic ignition made.

I recently purchased a converted G-62 from Ralph and a muffler for it from Abell RC. Ralph removes quite a bit of weight from the stock engine and mounts his ignition unit inside the engine backplate/mount. Like RTK, I have the smooth ball bearing spark advance. Ralph is a craftsman and it shows in this engine.

The Abell muffler is ruggedly built (TIG welded) and ships for under $50.00. It even includes drilled mounting bolts and safety wire.

I hope to run this combination this coming weekend.

www.ch-ignitions.com
PN 131, $124.95, no maching, install it your self.
By the time you add in a battery very little weight savings on complete plane, but the balance will change as you move a lot of weight back from the nose.

A good friend just put the C&H unit on a G-62. Works very nice. I have several Sachs motors with C&H, and if I had a G-62, it would have somebodys electronic ignition on it. Sure helps smooth the idle, and just can't seem to get along with the spring starter.

RCING1 or C&H. Both are top notch conversions, Both are top notch people to do business with.
I would give each a call, and see what one would best address your needs. I will say that you will be 100% satisfied with either one, as they are both "old school honest gentlemen to do business with".

You are right on the money and in this day and age it is a something you don't see a lot of. It would be nice if everyone had those business ethics.
