Evolution 26GT Ignition Problem.
Hello -
I've got a new Evolution 26GT and am having trouble keeping it running. I'm using a 6 volt 1500 milli amp battery. The red light flashed and then goes out, I start the engine, I let it warm up at idle, then I open the throttle. The RPM's stay high for about 15 seconds and then drop. It runs at idle well, but will only last a short time at full throttle. After running for approximately 2 minutes I turn off the ignition switch and kill the engine. When I turn the switch back on the red light flashes very fast and stays flashing really fast. The book says that this indicates a low battery. The battery was fully charged and ran for only two minutes. What's the problem??????
Thanks for your help,
Brian

RE: Evolution 26GT Ignition Problem.
If yours is new engine with a cable which says 6VOLTS-- the problem is the cable should read use7.2 volts (but they didn't!)
OR a 6 cell nimh battery (one for electric cars is just right 1000+ma
Horizon-I believe has a notice about this battery problem - others have seen same problem.
with proper batttery level -it all works fine
The info sent was simply incorrect

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tried a 7.2 volt 3600 milli amp battery out of my son's truck. It worked great.
Thanks,
Brian
