look at http://prme.nl/forum/viewforum.php?f...72892874976fc4 for the MTW muffler tests as done on MVVS engines.
The 43cc is very close to a DA50 in performance, and this engine responded very well to the TD75 muffer

MTW confirmed, that my figures pretty much matched the DA field results, so I think that the numbers I published are much more conclusive than the work DA put in the public domain. [X(]

I did call DA and they said that the 75K would add about 200 to 300 RPM to the stock muffler configuration. If I get one I'll be using a Xoar 22 X 8 for break in. I do want to try a can and I will get the MTW. The engine will be a DA, BME, or ZDZ. I may have to have a header made for the BME if that is the one I get.

Hi Steve, I fly my EDGE 29% with DA50R and MTW75K canister with factory header 250mm long, 25mm drop with flex. Performance is very good and QUIET!! My engine has 6 gallons through it and tach readings are 7000-7100 rpm with mejzlik 22x8, at 3000 feet high, 50:1 motul 800. I'm using it slightly rich. I'm VERY satisfied with this combo my plane weighs 15 lbs and has plenty of power to go out of a hover with no problem.
I had to work a little to put the 75K canister (the bigger one) inside the fuse, but once done it works great. Let me know if you want some images of installation.

pierocapredoni, yes please show some photos. I am at about 6000 feet above sea level and power is a problem at my altitude. Though I usually fly in the 5400 to 5600 asl. I need all the power I can get for a 16 lb model. I'm hoping for the DA, as I have never run one and would like to try it. I know there are more powerful engines out there, but they add weight too, and from what I've read so far, the MTW can will give me the added power I'm looking for.

best power at high altitude ?
use tuned setup and a small prop - 22x8 mejzlic as example
On AMT or Skorepa full carbon pipe - the ZDZNG turns that prop at 7750 give or take a few -static - inlevel flight 8400 give or take a few
anyway this setup on my 15.25 lb EF Yak was the best 3D setup for 4350 ft elevation
Your DA should run in the same ballpark -with the pipe- but adding more prop load (less rpm)-we found always produced a negative shift in performance.
the higher you go -the faster you have to run the prop .

Thanks Dick,
I'd like to get more info on the Skorepa for the future but I don't think any of the newer ARFs are designed for a full length pipe. I think my wife is looking at the BME 330, QQ Yak, and the AirWild 260, maybe others too. This is a B-Day project and she gets to pick the plane and motor (mind you this is her idea and I am very greatful for her support), and I get to pick the radio equipment and exhast system. The newer ARFs, from what I've read, are can ready but not pipe ready. This will be my first can install so I am on a learning curve with this one. I know heat inside the fuse is a big concern.

Hi piero
Show your photos.
I have flown in km 60 many years ago (1982 to 1986), no money , only helper, ohh , memories
Still flying, but my own planes, no more helper.
Flying glow and converted gas engines.
What is the back of your avatar, may be km 60?
See you later
Jose
