Brison 2.4 engine missing parts
Hy guys.
I live in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro
Few months ago a friend of mine. purchased a Brison 2.4 from Kangkeusa to me.
I think there is something missing in my Engine.
After taking a look in www.brisonaircraft.com I saw a picutre of mu engine a little DIFFERENT from the same engine as mine.
There is a WHITE RING with pushroad connection from ignition sensor to carburator. Also there is a conical end in the carburator.
My Briosn 2.4 DID NOT COME with these itens!!!!
Whats wrong? Did I purchased a phalse engine?
I am experiencing problems concerning ignition timing set.
How can I adjust timing ignition without this white ring?
In this forum people say that it is necessary to set the pushroad connected to the white ring!! My Brison does not have this ring!!
Help me please someone!!!!!!
I am lost here.

If the sensor is not adjustable, how can I set ignition timing?
Sorry, but I am new in gas engines

RE: Brison 2.4 engine missing parts
this is the new brisson
no more adjustable / advanced timing...
i have the same motor...see pic..
but after a while i encountered lots of problems
beaware what fuel u use and the oil mix/ratio
u can ask SILVERSURFER for more tech details he is well femilaiar with the brison's
oil should be fully syntetic ....as i recall

Mine I got last December and it's like gadix engine. They still show the old style systems in there add, they haven't used it for some time. Mine also didn't come with the Velocity stack like they show in the photos. Not A must have item. They call for high test gas and 100-1 synthitc mix but I'm running mine at 50-1 and it's working just fine. The one thing I have found is it dosen't like light weight props. Runs fine with the Zinger 18X12 or 20X8 but try to run the same size in A Testor prop and it runs really bad and won't adjust correctly. Other then that it's an outstanding engine with plenty of power.
Ignore what you see missing from the add and enjoy it, things change.

The old system had the mechanical advance then they went to the new electronic ignition. From what I have heard they have changed it again. At the time I spoke to Garry he had three engines made up, one was going to Israel, one to the UK {I think} and I got one. That was almost A year ago.

When Gary was building the engine you could get them either way, mech. or elect. advance.
I got the mechical advance, it had smoother throttle response.

RE: Brison 2.4 engine missing parts
The last of the "old" Brison engines had the white timing ring on the front that was retained with an allen head set screw. Whether it was mechanical or auto advance didn't really make a difference except in the mid range, where the mechanical was a little smoother. Most people didn't know the difference, and since the new auto advance had become a big advertising selling point with other manufacturers Gary just followed suit and gave people what they believed to be better. They ended up paying more but that didn't seem to matter. With the change in management, the use of CH ignition was discontinued and Cimmaster is now the ignition type, so the timing ring will probably have been changed to suit the ignition.
A velocity stack as a rule serves little in the way of performance. You probably will never notice a difference with or without.
I'm not going to argue oil ratios with a manufacturer, but for me unless there is a substantial change in oil formulas and performance levels no engine of mine from any manufacturer will see a 100-1 mix. I like to keep my engines for a very long time and I don't consider running time of less than 500 hours to be very long. Personally I will stay with a high quality synthetic oil mixed at ratios from 50 to 80-1 and never worry about my engines. When it's hot outside that number goes down, and when flying lighter loads at cooler temperatures the number goes up. Since I don't like stuck rings I won't use a natural oil at any ratio.
If you are having an actual issue with a Brison engine that was produced and assembled after the change in management, contact Kangke in New York since they have the distribution rights and discuss the problem.

in the market for a new motor.can anyone tell me if the brisons use a polished cast case or a polished machined barstock case like a da or bme twin????? i would hate to think they were passing off just looks.
