it is a walbro 76B,i like the carb because you can go very rich or very lean on both needles.i replace the carbs on both da50's with this carb.

The Walbro WT-76 is the carb used on the 52cc Dolmar chain saw

It has no options except a choke

No high speed nozzle etc.

If it works and has a good midrange, that is what's important.

It works extremely well ..... even the the WT-76 and WT-76A versions ... all good. Rcign tried to tell people many times that this carb was a good one .... few would listen. Brison used this same carb on the 2.4 and 3.2 engines ... great results. May have used it on other engines ... not sure. Taurus uses it on the 3.2 ... maybe others, again not sure. You can't argue with success. Far better carb than the Wt-201 used on the DA-50. On the other hand the current carb used on the DLE-55 seems like a darn good one and its cheap.

Typically this involves minor differences as to the throttle arm, purge pump, angle of fuel inlet, etc

I have engines with all 3 versions of the WT-76 and though I have not compared them for the exact differences, I did note that 2 of the versions were made in different countries. That was Mexico and Japan. One version had different length needles. They all run pretty much the same with needles that have a nice broad range of adjustment and good idle ... midrange ... HS transitions.

Just curious, has anyone here run the TS-42? Is it as fine a engine as the 52? Does the 42 use the same cyl/piston as the old brison 2.4ci engine?

The TS-42 was discontinued long before the company stopped doing business. The 2.4 and the 3.2 were almost the same size and weight, negating advantages in those areas for using the engine. Taurus did not use the same cylinders Brison did, at least not on the TS-52

just bought and received a wt-76c, ordered a wt-76-1 and got the ''c''. the needles are rather long and had plastic adjustment stops on them(C.A.R.B. SPECS MAYBE??????????). fuel nipple is brass and is straight. internal pulse channel. my taurus 52cc has a wt-76a on it. runs great!!!!! i'll try the ''c'' on my shindiawa 45cc weedy engine. i'll let you know how that goes. FORGET CHINA let's keep Bill going, let's buy taurus engines, can't beat 'em. if you take good care of them, you better put them in your Will because you'll be pass'n 'em on.

Been flying my Taurus 52 all year, so reliable and wanting to perform ALL the time. Its fun, powerful/smooth and sounds great and sips the gas, ans starting it is a non issue, I doubt I wear will this thing out.

I do have a DLE 55 in another plane, it has no proper runtime on it, but initial runs do indicate that it will be different and is more like a barrell of firecrackers.

i have 2 52's and a 72. i can tell you they are well worth the money. they mite not be the cheapest eng. going but i think that they are the best. properly adjusted and not run on sandy, dusty runways, etc., i doubt you could wear one out for many, many years of use. you should probably put it in your will. they are certainly well worth every penny!!!!!! taurus engs. is hurting tho because of the china invasion and the down turn in the economy and not because of issues with there engs. and that is for sure. Bill O. of taurus engs. is a stand up guy and deserves our support. to lose taurus engs. would be a travesty and a shame!!!!!! rock on Bill O.
