Well!!!
Igot my answer back from the Washington BBB.
Looks like Copperhead aviation is not going to return my engine that was in for Warrenty work.
I am not going to fight this case for a $300 engine
I will however not recommend this company as to their past performance not answering emails or the phone and the lack of PR.

That just isn't right.
Copperhead owes you an engine, repaired or not. My venom 45 is sitting here with a broken crankshaft and it won't be sent back.

I am one of the fortunate one's. I was tempted to buy one of these engines, but didn't. Unfortunately, I did talk one of my buddies into trying one. He has yet to mount it on anything, and I fear the day he does. He had trouble with the carb, right out of the box. He was to receive a new carb, and it never came. It is possible that the only way to bring justice here is to boycott Tim and all the company's selling Tim's other products, and letting them know why. It is my understanding that his factory is or will be producing ARF's for other company's. A boycott would take a lot of effort to accomplish, without a good line of communication. As it is, my statement will likely get removed.
Best wishes to everyone!

My Extra 260 profile reached an untimely end today. In the course of falling to the ground after a mid-air, the motor took most of the impact. I am trying to aquire some new parts. If unsuccessful, I may have some parts someone else could use.

Sean
I don't beleive the vendor is going to send my engine back even tho I lawfully own the engine.
I would not buy from this vendor as to his past performance. Read the last several pages abt the problems other pilots have had

You may get JJtorrant in Mexico to get a crankshaft turned for you. An earlier post reflects what he did

RE: Copperhead Venom 45
Hello mfuess or others
I went to swap my venom 45 to a cap 232 and noticed on the ignition module on the one end was a hole a bit larger than the lead end of a pencil?? Is this normal?? is it a vent hole?? Any responses would be appreciated as I am right in the middle of installing and will use a different engine until I can get the ignition box fixed... I have sent Tim an email but also thought I may get a response here...The engine runs good so if others respond try to focus on does your ignition module have a hole in one end. Thanks in advance

RE: Copperhead Venom 45
vwtrey,
I have an email in to Tim right now to see about parts. Last I heard he was traveling to China so I haven't heard back yet. I'll let you know what I find out, but if I can't fix my motor, I may have a usable crank shaft I can let go.

Great news! Tim just emailed me and will get a new case to me. It took about a week, but based on Tim's travels, this is reasonable.

Tim has always responded to my needs so give him the benefit of a timely resolution.......I haven't started my 45cc engine yet but can't wait to get my 25% GP Patty Wagstaff Extra in the air with it.

Marc,
The Venom 45 pulled my 19 pound Extra real well. It wouldn't rocket out of a hover, but it hovered well and would climb straight up out of sight from takeoff! You'll be pleased.
