sorry that I forgot about one of my prior posts! On the 26 there is a side plate on the cylinder,I've found that gasket to leak and cause nonadjustable carbs also!!!!
check there before the carb tear down. hope this is of help,

I'm about to purchase a SV26 engine. But can anyone help clarify if these 2 engines are actually the same engine..?

RCS/SV26 and Hobbycity SV26

According to the specs, RCS/SV26 =>2.8hp, Hobbycity SV26 =>2.35hp..and of course the price is different too..

The buzz is that RCS had the factory make some changes to the engine. Dunno if it's true or hype to justify the higher price. I sure wish that someone would do a comparison of the two.

As an aside, it wouldn't make sense for the mfr to make two versions so..........

Look closely next to the needles. It is on the block. I think high is the rear one,but check that for sure.

The early ones needed a timing adjustment. It affected top end and transition. I'll try to find the posts that talked about this fix. It is here somewhere. Mine was purchased just a couple months ago and is fine, so I think they got the feedback and fixed it at the factory.

Has anyone flown a CMP Warhawk P40/73" with a SV26 engine.? I have the plane, and am planning to power it with SV26. How does it perform.? Is there any reserve power..?

Considering that CMP recommends a 1.40 glow engine to power that model, I wouldn't be real optmistic about having any surplus power with a 1.40 gas/spark engine. But, what is enough power for you may not be enough power for me. There is still the subjective element to contend with.

I have the cmp 73" with a 120 ax os. flies very well and fast. 10.5 Lbs.
I also have the sv 26 in a great planes super stearman 17 Lbs flies well.

so I am sure that the sv 26 would be great choice.

the only problem would be mounting the gasser. the plane has ply rail mounting for the engine as part of the main structure.

It will have plenty of reserve power!!

this plane only weighs in the 10Lb range and they rated it for too big of an engine.

both sv26's will turn a 16x8 prop at about 9000, as does my os 120 ax.

(I have the H.C. sv26) but, in a 17Lb stearman, and it pulls that fine!!

Nice to know there's plenty of reserve power. I'll go for the H.C SV26. The only problem now is, like you've said earlier, mounting the engine..

I agree with Lotech that the SV will easily fly a 10 pound plane. I have one in the Stearman PT-17 at 14.5 pounds and it flies fine. I dont get near the RPMs out of it as him though. With a 15X8 APC i get about 6800rpm @ about 5000ft elevation. Id love to get 9000 though, maybe there is some more to squeeze out of that lil thing

at your elevation you probably won't.I live at about 200' el. also timing is critical on these nice little engines!

my stearman was weighed on pro scale at just under 17 Lbs.,has yours been weighed accuratly, if so how did you come in so light??

I assumed you had the super stearman and i have the PT-17. I think you are right about the altitude. I havent messed with the timing to see if i can get more but will one of these days

I received my SV 26cc from HobbyCity last week. Is my first gas engine.
Beautiful engine, but I have some questions about his Walbro carb.
I take some pictures of his carb...
Point 1: what line I connect in this tube?
Point 2: in this tube I suppose that I connect the fuel line coming from tank. It´s ok?
Point 3: from where this tube comes?

Last questions... This carb don´t have choke. This bulb have the same finality? What´s the procedure do start this engine? How can I start this engine in a full cowled airplane?

That carb isn't the same as the one that came on my SV26 engine. That bulb looks like a priming bulb as is sometimes used on some lawn mower engines. Is it soft? If so, the idea is that you push on it to prime the engine. The black barb fitting is where you connect the fuel line from the tank. I don't know what the brass fitting connects to, if anything. It may be a one-way vent for the bulb but I'm not sure. Push the bulb flat and see if the brass fitting sucks air when you release the bulb. The tube in Point #3 may be coming from the bulb.

I found generic instructions for my engine through a link on the Hobby City website 6 months ago. The link took me to the engine manufacturer's site.

Andre, the #1 is to put pressure to the tank on weedeaters, plug it. #2 is for the fuel line from the tank!!! If you start this engine with a electric starter you will have no problems when cold

with no choke.. I made a choke plate for mine to help hand starts!! Hope this helps,,,,, Lotech

Does anybody know what size Tru-Turn spinner and adapter kit to use for the SV 26cc? Or is there something else that works? I have the engine installed in a PeakModel Extra 330L 25%.

This is always the problem with Hobby City. It is NOT WYSIWYG, always misleading..!! I have a lot of orders from HC and in each order there MUST be something out of expectation.!!

chutt...I purchased and installed a Walbro 644 carb that has choke. I ran a choke cable(golden rod) to the outside of the cowl so that I could open and close the choke. I removed the bulb from the new carb and used the cover plate from the old 817 that was on it.
