Unhook the link to the carb, set the timing to 28 BTDC, and lock the sensor ring with 2 8.32 set screws..get a RC EXL ignition and go fly...

Thanks for the help. Do I have to pull the hub and ring off to drill and tap the holes for the set screws?

Thanks for the help! Do I have to pull the ring off to drill and tap the holes for the set screws? If you drill the holes for the screws while the ring is in place, do you drill into the face of the ring and how deep into the block should the screws go?

You don't need to rmove the ring. Just drill through the ring from the side. When you get to the crankcase STOP. Use a bottoming tap for 8-32.

Thanks everyone for all of the help. I have one more question in regard to the rcexl inginition. My Sachs engine has a Champion RCJ8 plug in it. The specs for this plug are 14mm thread size, 9.5mm (3/8) reach and 13/16 (20.6mm) hex size. Is there a rcexl ignition that will work with this plug size?

Yes, there are EXL ignitions for ANY spark plug...
You can use a NGK BPMR6F taper seat, it's smaller..

How can I get the crank straightened on a 3.2 A&M Sachs, it seems the counterbalances are out of line, for that matter what do you need to do to get the case apart, I've tried and it isn't coming apart.
Thanks for any info you might give

Contact Cyberwolf and see if he has time to repair your crankshaft? I know he has done them in the past.

What is the thread size? If 10mm, this should work .... a common Zenoah part.

http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...in--ZENE62A#t4

scan down the list of parts and look for ZEN262991510

Ralph Cunningham aka Antique or RCignitions can also make one for you. Maybe someone could chime in with his phone number, I don't have it handy.

Truck racer, Thinks, l ordered one for a G62, then l though about it and l had some bolt's that l brought home from work for a G62, But there not heat treated and there's not a hole for a spinner bolt. It was for a motor that was in a Mr, Mulligan, so l won't out to day to see if the bolt would fit, lt would not fit.The one for the G62 was to big and one for a Q42 was to small, it's inbetween the two (DANG IT)! I talked to Bill at BJ's Hobbes to day and he said that if l sent him the bolt, he thinks that he can fix it? But! I'd like to get a new one because the one l got is started to round off where l have been using a crescent wrench, so I'm up against the wall and l need it defore the 3rd weekend of next mounth for a show. I can always fly it without a spinner, but, flying an 33% Aero works 540 without a spinner is like going to the prom without a date! LOL..... ';

You can always find the bolt at a good hardware store then take it to any decent machine shop and have them tap it for the spinner. Labor charges shouldn't be to excessive for one tapped hole.

Ralph Cunningham is very reasonable if you know the bolt size.

Did you contact Tru Turn or David Brown? One of the two could probably take care of you.

I was thinking about that! I was also thinking about taking the bolt I have to a shop and see if they can help redrill and tap it. The problum is that the bolt't that come drilled and taped, they drill and tap before it is hardened. And the spinner bolt is also hardened that would make drilling the old bolt a pain in the behind to drill in itslelf! It going to have to be put in a lath to drill it right?..... I just can't figuer out how the spinner bolt broke, inless it was from over tour-king it? Truckracer, that is a way to go to, will keep at it! Like a late, grate man said, "I'D PEE ON A SPARK PLUG TO MAKE THIS WORK" LOL.... This is going to tick me off and l'll build a BIG warbird for this engine and put my 3w 120 on it! Can u see a 3w120 on a 33% plane! I had a BME 102 on it, but it was a dog! It would hover but u would wonder if it was going to make it?..... The 3w is about 3lbs heaver, but 6 times the power?...... Same size head to head, But, l already reworked the cowl for the 105! Just the spark plug's stick out the top, if l wen't with the 3w the plug's stick out the side, have not dun the finish fiberglass work, maybe that's the way to go?..... Could alwas put the 105 on my giant scale top flight P47, think it would hang on the prop? LOL...... Anyway, Thinks for helping out and maybe with all ur input, l can get it worked out. The worst part is that it's the EZ stuff that bites u in the ****! Have a good week end and stay worm and keep an eye on this, will post the out come. :-/ Best part, It's always game time! ';-) think my new cannon is built by now! Later. Thanks Agen: Sammy
