Getting service for your BME.
I was on one of the "other" sites and found a guy (Remember Kris^?) that has set up a service station for the BME Engines. Seems like a good idea since Kieth has been so unreliable. Anyhow, to anybody who may need service done but doean't want to wait for BME check it out. [link=http://home.netcom.com/~bme_fixer/]Click[/link] Seems he also came up with a fix for the 115.

Hey Pat Roy,
can you expound on (Essentially the same fix as PatrickP's but a lot more crude.)
Does Patrick P Repair BME engines? I need a carburator is the reason I was asking. If not I'm going to ask this Kris guy. Thanks

While it's nice that someone stepped up to the plate, but naming out someone continuously by first and last name probably won't sit well with some and I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Baker made a stink about it. It's not exactly a good way to start a business. If everytime I went to a sales call and slammed all of my compeition I wouldn't have any customers.
Luckily he is in a unique situation... be interesting to see how it develops

Crash90; I am using the service of the site you posted. KrisW from the other forum. It's not exactly the same thing as PatrickP offers. From what I understand PatrickP has a replacment for the reed block made from aluminum. While this may be a great fix its different than what KriwW is doing. With KrisW you send him your carburator and reed block and he does a modification which is tested on one of his 115's.
This is a quote form his post;" I will need is your inlet tract, including all gaskets and bolts and carburetor. Leave the engine on your plane, just unbolt the carburetor, take out the 4 bolts holding the reed and spacer block to the engine, and send those parts in. I'll modify them, test run and tune them on my own 115, and ship them back, ready to go, with a small tuning cheat sheet so you can adjust the carburetor for your altitude"
This is what I choose to do. I like the idea of a tested modified part that works on a 115 coming back to me to use on my 115.
FYI

I hope he will refund the 314 dollars I paid him up front in July for the sport 50 that didn't materialize and then was going to be a 58cc to replace the 50cc that didn't materialize either. I really just want my money back and can get no response via email.

RE: Getting service for your BME.
Crash90 the first posted test result is back on the "fix". Here is the direct copy and paste of the quote:
Test day was today for Kris's "fix". Drove to the field, unloaded the yak, put it together, and fueled it up. With my "Cheif Test Pilot Tom" at the control, I began to flip, and flip and flip ..ect ( you get the picture ) At this time Kriss was really on my mind !!!! (LOL ) Finnally had to squrit fuel in the carb. To my surprise it "poped" on the second flip! Now with it fired up he headed to the flight line, gave a quick control check, then Showered down on the throttle, and it lite up !! in the year or so I owned this engine, it was the first time it took the fuel right away. Tom put it through the paces, and never once did it stumble or change RPM, no matter what attitude. Transition in hover was up to "DA" Standards!!! Even Tom ( A Total DA Man ) Had to admit it ran flawless !!! So to all wanting to know Has someone figured it out, The answer
is yes Kris did. To Keith ( A Super Guy In MY Book )
I'd say Don't give up on the ship !!! take some time off, regroup, get with Kris and Put his fix on all your 115's. Because from what I experenced The 115 has AWAKENED !!!!

Does anyone here have any contact with Keith? Is there anyway to contact him? I don't want to harass him but I would really like to know if he intends to refund my 314 dollars I paid him back in July for the sport engine that didn't materialize.
Keith, if you monitor this site would you be kind enough to shoot me a email and let me know?
thanks,
John
