Default Carb Kit - Where do the screens go?

I'm installing a carb kit on a Tillotson carb for my 3W100, however where the heck do the two little screen go? Do they go underneath the press in dimple thingies? If so, how do you get them out?

Thanks.

Default RE: Carb Kit - Where do the screens go?

I have no experience with the Tillotson line, but Walbro has a carb rebuild toolkit for not too much $, should be available at a lawn & garden eqpt store. One of the tools is like a tiny chisel, on the scale of a jeweler's screwdriver. The point of the chisel gets knocked into the little dimpled dome, punched through at an angle, then the dome gets pried out, exposing the tiny screen. Another tool in the kit is a dimple punch to put the replacement dome back in over the new screen, then the dome gets knocked with the tiny punch, causing its perimeter to flare and lock in to its recess. Ask the guy at the store if they have the Walbro carb repair manual (or maybe Tillotson has something similar). The Walbro manual is semi-generic, just a little pamphlet, mostly photos & diagrams, covers a broad variety of carbs, but the basic steps are pretty much the same from one carb to another. Get yourself a can of carb spray cleaner while you're there, and ABSOLUTELY wear face shield or safety goggles while you're spraying that stuff (preferably outdoors or well ventilated garage).

I have Walbro links on another computer, locked up at the moment, but if you google Walbro & Tillotson, you'll probably find what you're looking for.
