rt3232,
This new 26cc RCGF engine is not like the one Henry sold. I have one of those too. This new engine is the size of a 20 (meaning it's about 8oz lighter than the old 26) only it's much bigger internally. The RCGF 20cc's pretty popular among those that own them, swing a 17x6 prop at the same rpm a DLE 20 does (8500+-).

Capt'
Thanks much for that side by side pic of the 2 engines. That confirms what I was hoping for when I first heard about it! It will be really interesting when some real life performance data starts coming in on them? Wondering if it'll swing an 18x6 as well as the old 26cc did? Hint hint......

If it runs as good as it looks, it's going to be a game changer regarding anything available when it comes to power to weight ratios, have everyone else playing catch up for sure..... -Al

We the consumers have never had it so good as there are so many options now available to us.

I got to tell you Al,

They are using the same carb on this new 26cc beam that is on the RCGF 32cc so that tells me it might be making some serious HP. I am swinging 22x10 and 22x8 props on my RCGF 32cc at 6800 to 7200 on the ground. I will keep you posted when I get it run tested. I am looking at maybe putting it a 86" span Giant Scale Sopwith Camel swinging a 20" to 22" prop if I can.

My thinking was in the other direction. Taking advantage of that power to weight ratio? That engine on a 3D (or sport?) plane that was performing well with a 20cc anything on it should...... well, put a grin on a lot of faces? -Al

Hi,

Leave the muffler on the engine it needs some back pressure to run right. To go like a racer I would look at the biggest 15x prop you can find. Try a 15x8 or a 16x8. "Go Fast, Turn Left".

Philfun,

The distance is 68mm or 2'' 11/16.
I have it on my web site rcgfenginesaust.com

I can attest to how well the 20cc beam mount runs, sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttt...... This 65"ws profile will hover all day long at half throttle. Or until it runs out of gas.

acerc - I can't help but wonder how the new 26cc engine (with exact same dimensions) might be in that same installation? Would you draw the line and say you might actually have too much power at that point?

Still waiting to hear some prop data..........

Hi Captmicom...

No data yet but my customers are very happy with the performance so far. I'm running two 40cc twins, one 50cc, one 45cc, three 32cc and the little 15cc all perform very well. I especially like the 40cc twin...

Hey Mario,

Yes I agree with you on the 40cc twin. It has ridiculous power, but the 60cc twin has insane power. I am planning to take my 60cc twin out of my 50cc Raven and put it into one of our new 120" span Cessna 188's and go have some fun with it...

Hi Mario,

Yes as a matter of fact we are in the process of setting up to test one of the first 60cc single beta units. Now if we could get the RCGF 85cc single and the RCGF 30cc twin moving we would have most of the bases covered. HOT DOG!!! If I hear anything on the pricing I will let you know but my gut feel is it will fall in the $429.00 to $439.00 USD range. Stay Tuned!!

Captmicom,

Just had an e-mail from Catherine, 60cc single is USD $. I agree we need an 80cc Single and looking forward to the 30cc twin, will be great for 1/4 scale Cubs etc.

JBV,

You have a bunch of options for a muffler. DA, DLE, DLA, RCGF, and Turnigy 50/55 cc mufflers will all fit your engine. One off a Zenoah 45cc will also. If all else fails I do have new ones in stock for $40.00 + shipping.

Aussiesteve,
I think I am having ignition noise from a Zenoah 26 ei. I don't have a clue on how to isolate wires, receivers, switches, servos and batteries to keep crashes from happening. I have used both 2.4 ghz and 72 mhz and still have interference problems.
