RE: RCGF Engines
Hey Gang,
Ok I just got in the new RCGF 60cc single for testing. I will let you all know the output ASAP. Also as an FYI, I am looking at the new RCGF (20S BM) 20cc Beam Mount that is about the same size as the 15cc beam mount. I will get some photos of it as soon as I can get it put together and ready to test. Stay tuned...!!

RE: RCGF Engines
Hey Al,
Sorry… It has been very windy and hot [&o] here so flying unless you go from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. is out of the question. Here are photos of the plane I have it in. The wing span is 65”. Here is what I have right now on the 26cc beam mount. First it is the same weight as the 20cc beam mount so it is 26 oz. or about 725 grams by itself. The weight is about 32 oz. or around 900 grams with muffler and CDI. I have run about a half-gallon of 91 octane gas mixed 40-1 through it so far. Remember I am setting at about 5000 ft. ASL and with the heat index right now the air mass can set at 6500 to 7000 ft. ASL. So that said my last measurements were 9000 RPM with a 16x8 Zoar and 7600 RPM with an 18x8 Zoar. I like the way the 26cc pulls with the 18x8 on it. The engine seems to have more authority for aerobatics than with the 16x8. Monsoon season is here so it will be cooling off a bit more so I will run more tests on it as time allows. I will also try to post a video on you-tube at some time.

RE: RCGF Engines
Capt, hope you have as much fun with yours as I do with mine!! Sorry it's not the 26cc but rather the 20cc, but the fun is the same. Unlimited everything!!!

RE: RCGF Engines
acerc - I know what you mean regarding unlimited everything! Were you in on the earlier conversations regarding this 26? It shares the 20's weight and dimensions, only it's displacement has been increased by 25% or so? Having fun imagining what's that going to do to "unlimited everything" in a plane like yours, or even in a sport plane like the Revolver 70? I have everything I need for this season, but that new 26 engine is on my short list! These 20s are already over achievers (much like the DLE20), but with this increased displacement? Can't wait!

RE: RCGF Engines
I don't recall ahicks if I was or not. I know I have read about them cause I like RCGF a lot. Like you I am booked for quite some time. But I do have an ARF Stearman that the 20cc was just a tad small for on power. So this new 26cc would be great. Maybe come winter?

RE: RCGF Engines
I use an APC 17x6 on my Revolver because I'm flying off grass and don't want to be putting props on it constantly. If it were not for that, wood props are much lighter, and because of that, allow quicker throttle response.
16x8 will allow for more speed, works good for the engine as well, but you'll be trading vertical performance for that speed, and your control surfaces might have more of a tendency to flutter if they aren't just right at the higher speeds? -Al

RE: RCGF Engines
Howdy Gang,
Just a small update on the New RCGF 26cc beam mount. Our flying club had its July night fly last week end. I drove up to Tucson around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday to find temps bouncing off 90+* F by about 9:00 a.m. A bunch of us stuck it out until around lunch time when it hit 106* F. Anyway we flew the wings off the little profile plane and even at 100+* temps it was still going vertical with less than half throttle. "What A Blast" Stay Tuned....

Hey Guys,
I know I have been silent for a while. Still looking for a day job so been staying close to home. Anyway,
RCGF 26cc Beam Mount:
I have about 1 1/2 gallons of 91 octane 40/1 through the new 26cc beam mount and the performance is just getting better. The RPM on run-up is up to 8000 with the Zoar 18x8. Remember the air is still a little thin here due to the heat but I can tell that the little engine is getting stronger. I had to put a smaller prop (Zoar 18x6) on it last weekend to get it to idol down for landings.
RCGF 60cc Single:
The new 60cc single has been very impressive so far. I now have about a half gallon of 91octane 40/1 fuel through it. I put it in a 112" span Cessna 188 Agwagon with a dry weight of just over 26 lbs. The engine turns a Zoar 24x8 at 7400 RPM on the ground at this time. I am still working out a small CG issue but even with that the plane flies very scale at half throttle. All of my flying buddies are very impressed with the power this engine is making.
I will send more when I have it.
Thanks,

No Problem. I can understand that for sure. That is why I am putting out what I can. RCGF also has the new 20S-BM 20cc beam mount that I have not had time or funds to mount on a plane to test. If I remember it I will put the photos that I took of it out for all to see tonight.
Thanks,

Hey Gang,
Thanks for showing the 26cc beam mount. It is identical in every way. If you set them on the table as I did back in post string 239 you can not tell them apart. I would repost the photos but my new 26 month old Gateway computer died after the 24 month warrantee expired, go figure! I am on a new I-Mac now and I am still trying to remember how to do some things with it. If you look at the top of this string at the red/black/white profile plane that is the RCGF 26cc beam mount.

Howdy Blog Mates,
I have good news and bad news about the RCGF 60cc single.
The good news first.. We got the Cessna 188 Ag Wagon CG issue worked out and put about a dozen flights on it. The engine just got better as we put more fuel through it. What a power house!! I can see this replacing the 55cc all together in the near future.
The Bad News.. I had my very first 2.4 gig radio link failure last week while flying this great bird..! All of the fail safes worked the engine shut down and the plane spiraled in from about 200ft. I need to get the wreckage out of the trailer and go through it but I just have not brought myself to that point yet. I guess I will do that later today.
Now I know some of you are asking yourself, "If the 60cc replaces to 55cc will I still be able to get parts for my 55cc?" I would love to answer that question for you but it seems that RCGF for some reason has cut me off completely. I have been the Official Repair Service for RCGF in the USA for some time now but how knows. I have been trying to get new engines and spear parts for two months with out a word. Without saying anything to me, BJ's Model Engine Repair has been added as a factory official Service Center for the USA. So..... I guess we will all have to wait until someone in the know mans up and informs us as to what is going on.
At this point I am not feeling very happy about doing any more free warrantee work on any RCGF engines out there other than the engines that I have sold. I will for now take this case by case if you are having problems. I will keep you all posted if this changes in the future. I am not sure what BJ's play is on this. I will try to talk to him and find out.
Stay Tuned for more mis-adventures,

Hey Al,
Sorry€ It has been very windy and hot [&o] here so flying unless you go from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. is out of the question. Here are photos of the plane I have it in. The wing span is 65€. Monsoon season is here so it will be cooling off a bit more so I will run more tests on it as time allows. I will also try to post a video on you-tube at some time.
