Rcgf 32 problem
Hi
I am an italian modeller and I have a problem with this engine.
Basically, the engine shuts off after a few minutes of flight.
The engine is brand new has burned about a gallon of mixture.
I give you a bit of data:
mixture 30:1 Motul 710
spark plug ngk cm6
wood propeller 19x8
Carburetor to the ground perfectly ... after a few minutes of flying off.
Who can help me?
Thank you very much
Angal
sorry for my english, I use google translator

Thanks for your response, I enclose a couple of photos as requested.
dirt on the exhaust system has been solved by replacing the gasket
I look forward to tips and any evidence to do.

Yes it's completely out of the cowl.
If you want the photos, you will have to wait until tomorrow .... here are about the 10 pm

Ok, cooling and mixture have been mentioned regarding ANGAL's engine. But I notice he is running a 19x8 prop. Isn't that bit on the large side? I would think more like a 18x8 would be the going prop for this displacement? Maybe it's lugging down the engine and causing it to overheat?

ANGAL,
As the head is completely out of the cowl, I do not believe that overheating is the issue. I believe you need to run a vent line from the carb's pump diaphragm to the interior of the fuselage. It is currently in a high pressure area when in flight and the pump cannot overcome that pressure and as a result, the engine is getting insufficient fuel.
Does anyone have a picture of a diaphragm vent line they can share?

Lifer are you referring to the modify of the roll for photo ??
I am more convinced than ever is a problem with the ignition, for the very reason that when the engine is switched off it does so without hesitation.
For testing will have to wait Saturdays.
Sorry, but in this section "RCGF engine" there is no technical representing the company in question?

Angal I have a question in what position is your bird when engine quits <ie: nose up/down are you rolling doing airbatic, or just flying circits of your field
Sorry Lifer about getting in to your discosion just thought knowing this might help, also your suggestion obout baffling the cowel is right on even though cooling may not be the root problem

Hi Angal,
Ok this might be a long shot but here goes. Was the engine running good when you first got it? If it was but now it only runs good until it warms up, I would check to make sure all of your engine bolts are still tight. I have had two different engines that after the engine warmed up it stopped running because the engine bolts were just loose enough the heat distortion allowed a vacuum leak. If the engine can not draw a vacuum then it can't suck gas and the engine will just die. Just a thought.....

Does anybody have experience with the RCGF 15cc beam mount engine? I am toying with the idea of replacing a 12cc glow engine with the RCGF 15cc engine.
If this has already been discussed, I apologize and ask direction to the post #. Thanks.
