Is there anybody in your area with experience with gas engines. When all else fails, I always go back to 1.75 turns on each needle and then set the high, followed by the low. Put in a new CM-6 plug gapped at 24 thousandths. Don't give up!

I face the same problem and am interested in every ones responses. Here's what I am doing and have came up with on mine, by the way it's a 4star 120 and I am using the same engine you are. If I cut a hole in the firewall, it takes up room in the fuel tank department. Also by doing it that way, you will inevitably get gasoline inside your airplane. I guess you could make a sort of cup into the fire wall and fuel proof it for the carb to go back into. At this point what I am thinking is maybe mount the engine to the firewall with out the altering the firewall and counter balance the airplane, which will add a little weight in the tail. But that is just what I am thinking, I know there are a ton of guys here with WAY more experience than I have so let's see what others have to say.

That essentially what I wound up with. I set the low speed 1/4 richer then used my transmitter to limit the idle to 2300. Now it runs quite well and takes the throttle even if I jam it open and it runs in midrange.
Now maybe I can get a flight out of it.
Thanks

I think I solved my problem: wandering Italian Forum , such as :go-kart / motocross, and others where they use in all gasoline engines ..... is said that using a 100% synthetic oil the right percentage of oil is 2%
I just did a flight and the engine did not switch off ..... hopefully good
Sunday rain, so next week I'll do more flights and I will tell you ..... anyway I'm almost convinced that I have found the solution.
Who is in my condition suggest you do this test, it costs nothing.

I have the 26cc RCGF blue head type engine on a Extra 260, it was maidened last Sunday. it has not been broken in yet. the idile is high for about 10 seconds after I go full power and then goes down to about 2500 rpm. Is it because it hasn't been broken in or maby the low needle off a little?

I think what you're talking about is what is known as high idle hang? This is where the engine doesn't return to idle speed right away, especially after being run at higher power levels. Not too big a deal. Low speed is likely just a hair lean. Richen a tiny bit at a time until the 'hang' is under control.

Yep. 1/8 turn (or less) more open on the low speed needle will most likely cure that immediately. Will make cold starts nicer too.

Yes the engine is ready and I should have one if RCGF can got the new carb done. My next load is due within the next 2 weeks. The lil motor puts pretty good with a 15cc carb on it but the devo engineers feel that with a smaller more controllable carb on it, the engine will make a lot more power. So hang in there and I will let you all know as soon as it gets here. I will not be testing it right away though because I have a lot on my plate right now.

I got an old ( bought in 07) rcgf 50 engine that witha zoar 20x10 is turning 7200 rpm. Is this about right? I had trouble with after I got it and it has been put up since then. Got it out the other day and put a walbro carb on it and am just wondering if the rpm is good.

Hey Voodo,

That sounds about right. I was swinging a 22x8 Xoar at about 7400 rpm back in the day. Who did you get it from? What does the case look like? CNC or cast?

It's a cast case. Rear carb, reed valve. I bought it from RCGF. I was working and living in Tianjin China. I got it and a side carb 65, but burnt the 65 up. Didn't locktite everything and the carb came loose in flight.

The carbs for the DLE 20 and 30 will bolt right onto your RCGF 15. I have a 30-carb on mine and it runs great. About an 800 rpm increase. Tower sells the carbs.
