I just paid $9.64 to ship one $3.50 sticker. It is what it is. I wanted the sticker and it was the only place who had them. If I didn't want to pay the shipping I wouldn't have. It was from a big company and probably have FedEx pick up their items. I'm sure it only costs them a couple bucks to ship. Oh well.

I've been trying to do a quick search but struggling to find the info I need... and I need to get to the auto parts shop before they close...

I have a new RCGF 65cc engine that was a part swap from years ago, decided it's time to fire it up and slap it in my T28.

Spark plug- the stock "Torch" branded L7RTC plug was already cracked when I received it, but what do I replace it with?

While searching this thread I found this post which is referenced to the RCGF 45cc...

Any of these will be an NGK CM6 look alike....

But these couldn't be choices for the 65cc engine? My DL50 & STS53cc both use a CM6 plug and it's half the physical size of the Torch L7RTC.

BP Hobbies list an M4F spark plug that they say, fits *all* RCGF engines, I find that a bit difficult to believe.

Then there is this list on the Spark Plug Cross Reference site:

There will be dozens of opinions. I have used the 2 Champion options listed in a G-62 and had no problems. You can also add an adapter that would allow the use of the CM-6 if you desire.

All in all, the differences are minute enough that they will make little difference. Install the plug you want, and go fly!

The only thing I would do sdd is use a really good thread LOCK on the adapter, as I have seen some come loose. And as above install the plug of your choice and go fly.

The best price I have found on CM-6 plugs is at Advance Auto. They'll price match any competitor. I usually pay $5.99.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the thread locker. Always use that as well.

Competitive in their class (power/weight/reliability), but unless you can find them on sale, maybe on the expensive side. They're the price of a DLE, so why not just go with a DLE? Reputation vs. reputation, thinking the DLE has quite an edge. Totally subjective though. That's just me. -Al

I've bought a few of them. My first was from a guy in upstate New York. A 20 cc side-draft. It runs like a champ. My second was a 20 cc that ingested itself in about a half a gallon of fuel. Total write-off. My third is a 15cc that was a dog til I installed a Bowman ring. It is also still running but it will be my last RCGF.

I wouldn't be so quick to jump onto just any plug for that engine until it is known what will fit the ignition cap. Certainly there are a wide variety of plugs that will work in the engine but the list will be much shorter for those that will fit the cap.

If that Torch branded plug fit the cap, you need to take the measurements from that plug and be certain they are the same for the plug you choose. For example, does it have a 5/8" or 3/4" hex for the wrench? How tall is the insulator / contact? Tapered seat or washered? These are just a few of the considerations. Of course, with an ignition cap replacement, you can fit most any plug you might want to use.

Regarding the plugs, if the Torch is a resistor plug, make absolutely sure that you put a resistor plug on the engine. I replaced mine with the Champion equivalent with good results. Otherwise, your ignition module will go crazy and run very rough. If you convert to a CM-6 plug, the plug boot has to include a resistor in it because the CM-6 plug is not a resistor plug.

BTW, I can get the CM-6 plug for less than $4 at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

We;; I have 2-26's one with about 4 gallons thru it, it replaced a G-23 that had 10 plus , the other 26 about 2 thru it and both run Great, then I have a 62 that runs great but only about 2 gallons thru it and it replaced a G-38 and it had about 30 gallons thru it (it was my oldest gasser and about 20 +years old), I now have a 32 new for a new build and only bench ran and it seems to be vary good, they all required a bit of carb tweeking but all are easy to start with good idle's, transitions and plenty of power for the bird and weight they are in

On a side note the RCGF-62 is no longer available, and replaced with the 65, But in a 20+ lb Week bipe it is in is quick and I only need 1/2 throttle to fly and do aerobatics (no 3-D)

I have had many through the years, initially they were a hit or miss. Somewhere a few years ago they got things worked out and now they are nice and strong. I still have a 20cc in a profile (5 years old), a 56cc in an Ultimate (4 years old), a two week old 60cc twin going in a Pitts, and a 3 years old 120cc broke in awaiting an airframe to be finished. In my opinion they are every bit as good as a DLE of which I have had numerous. There is a nice, how one is, thread on GSN of the 120cc with others throwing in their experience of them lately.

I've had both DLE and RCGF. I think if you get one of the current RCGF engines you're getting a real good bang for your buck. I know that RCGF didn't have a great reputation before their "reboot" some years back. However, both my RCGF 26cc beam mount and 60cc single cylinder engines proved to be excellent engines with tons of power. Just my two cents.

I have a new 10cc that I got from RCGFUSA and in the manual it states that if you use a life 2 cell you need to use a regulator. My ignition module says version 2.0 4.8 / 8.4 volts. I make my own A123 packs. I'm going to use a 1100mah packs that never charges above 7.4v do I need to use a regulator?

I have the 222 and am curious of the oil gas mix that people are using and the long term results that they have seen. I currently am using an AMSOIL Synthetic that has worked very will in my 55's.

NCRC - I think what you're looking at in the manual could use some updating. The info on your module is current.
