I face the same problem and am interested in every ones responses. Here's what I am doing and have came up with on mine, by the way it's a 4star 120 and I am using the same engine you are. If I cut a hole in the firewall, it takes up room in the fuel tank department. Also by doing it that way, you will inevitably get gasoline inside your airplane. I guess you could make a sort of cup into the fire wall and fuel proof it for the carb to go back into. At this point what I am thinking is maybe mount the engine to the firewall with out the altering the firewall and counter balance the airplane, which will add a little weight in the tail. But that is just what I am thinking, I know there are a ton of guys here with WAY more experience than I have so let's see what others have to say.

dirtybird, I don't have direct RCGF experience, but based on other engines I have dealt with, I would sacrifice the low idle and set it to about 2500 rpm, then try a little richer setting on the low speed needle. Seems like it's leaning out in the mid-range. I would also make sure you are running with fresh gas mix.
Now maybe I can get a flight out of it.
Thanks

I think I solved my problem: wandering Italian Forum , such as :go-kart / motocross, and others where they use in all gasoline engines ..... is said that using a 100% synthetic oil the right percentage of oil is 2%
I just did a flight and the engine did not switch off ..... hopefully good
Sunday rain, so next week I'll do more flights and I will tell you ..... anyway I'm almost convinced that I have found the solution.
Who is in my condition suggest you do this test, it costs nothing.

I have the 26cc RCGF blue head type engine on a Extra 260, it was maidened last Sunday. it has not been broken in yet. the idile is high for about 10 seconds after I go full power and then goes down to about 2500 rpm. Is it because it hasn't been broken in or maby the low needle off a little?

I don't know who else handles RCGF
But I have to say B/P Hobbies has vary good coustomer service, and will get my business when they have what I am looking for.

Yes the engine is ready and I should have one if RCGF can got the new carb done. My next load is due within the next 2 weeks. The lil motor puts pretty good with a 15cc carb on it but the devo engineers feel that with a smaller more controllable carb on it, the engine will make a lot more power. So hang in there and I will let you all know as soon as it gets here. I will not be testing it right away though because I have a lot on my plate right now.
