+1 for Captmicom he overhauled my odd-ball RCGF 26 quickly for a good price; it runs great now. I'm finally uploading pictures of the 60cc RCGF Captmicom offered up for an online raffle at the end of last year. Busy Spring, but finally got my test stand out the other day with the 60 on it. Started like it was a completely broken in engine: Throttle wide open----full choke----popped on the third pull through. Throttle cracked above idle-----ran on the third pull. Pump gas/Stihl dino orange bottle 32:1/ ValleyViewRC 24X9 prop. Checked RPM's after a couple of quick heat cycles and it gave 6510rpm WOT and would idle around 1900rpm. Ran about 5 heat cycles total and never touched a needle---settings as delivered were right on with a clean no hesitation throttle up and a touch fat on the upper end. IR Thermometer around 150-175 deg F running. Don't believe in excessive "break-in" time----I'd rather break-in in the air-----so it's on to mount and fly probably in my GP Giant Aeromaster bipe.

Does anyone know how to get in contact with AussieSteve?

I noticed he hasn't posted anything for a couple of years.
I used to talk to haunt a few of the same threads on here as him.

I am trying to find a gasket set for an RCGF 20cc engine. BP is out of stock and HK doesn't list one. Anybody know of other suppliers?

After the gasket set arrives, I'll order a ring from Frank Bowman. The engine is fairly new, definitely under-compressed, and hard to start when warm.
I am a BIG fan of Bowman rings and they have been installed in all my DLE's. More compression, quick to seat, and easier starts.

I'll post on the progress as requested.

Hi Lifer, just wondering if your 20cc RCGF is a beam mount or one mounted on stand-offs? I have a couple of the beam mounts (dual rings) and they have good compression and start well hot or cold.
Looking for a stand-off mount 20cc ( single ring?), so will be interested in your outcome.

Leanrun,

It's the version that uses standoffs. Frank said if it is a 2-ring model that I should only replace the top ring. There will be less drag/heat that way. I won't take the engine apart until I have the gasket set and new ring in hand.

Mine only has modest compression and that is why I plan to go with a Bowman ring. Several times I have made that decision and each time was amazed at the difference in compression and how much easier they are to hand start as a result.

To all of you RCGF fans News Flash!!!

We are now planning to bring an RCGF engine warehouse right here to the go old USA. I am currently working with RCGF management to make this happen. I will also soon start running the RCGF service center full time as well. There will be an "ALL NEW" web site that will make engine registration and warranty work so much easier. This will also allow for faster delivery of all the great RCGF engines you like so much. As soon as we have all of the new web sites up and running I will share the info with you. If any of you need parts or service at any time in the future just call RCGF service center at 520-732-2200 we will gladly take care of you...

Kind Regards,

Joe

Hello 45Cal & ahichs,

Thanks Big Al!! I am still trying to get my hands on some of the 10cc engines for us to test. We are still trying to work out Carb issues.

45cal, I am still here.... I stock all of the RCGF engines and have for going on 9 years. I am also the US Service Center for RCGF. That means that you don't need to send it back to China if it needs to be repaired. If you want something just call!

Thank You,

Joe
