I hate to be the one that brings this up,
but why is it that shipping on parts cost just as much as the parts themselves??
Then the actual shippingl cost on the package is 5xs less.

Ok guys don't rub it in. But if he gets the engine back I would bet if he then talks to Joe they can get it fixed and with luck at a minimal coast. That said before I was aware of RCGF-USA I got two engines form H/K a 26cc stand off mount that has been a great engine about 15 hrs on it and then I got a 62cc that has been dropped from the list, and it also was good but had some problems with it sent it to Joe, for minimal coast and now it is a power house, I am not saying they are the best, but they stand up with all of the other brands being used at our club.

But that is just me

I don't have experience with the older engines but I did some research before I tried RCGF and found that they didn't have a great rep. The new 26cc beam mount looked good so I contacted Joe and he told me the back story to the company. I don't remember the details but I'm pretty sure they changed ownership a few years back and the all around quality of their products have greatly improved. So I decided to give them a shot, and I'm glad I did.

I've run the newer 26cc BM and the newer 60cc single. Both have been great. Easy to tune, run well, and they both have "some balls"!

So who are you talking about? You order parts from RCGF USA?

No, that's a fair assumption. We'd been talking a lot about hobby king and dealing directly from China so I wasn't sure. I guess I coulda looked back to see if you'd recently ordered from Joe.

If I remember right, I got free shipping. If not, it was a standard $10 or so. Maybe an order like an engine gives a $100+ free shipping deal a lot of companies do. I'm a stickler for shipping costs, so if I thought they were high I definitely would remember!

What kinda shipping costs are you seeing?

It was the standard $10 i was charged for two very small parts but shipping was actually $2.52 on the envelope.

Hi Max "D",

Yes we do ship engines for free. I can understand your concern. I used to think some of the same things too.. But then I got a new prospective after being on this side for a while.. Here is a little pick behind my curtain.. We ship all the small parts via first class mail. That means that you get your parts in about 2 working days time from the time I get them to the post office and we can track them for you... Let me see.. Tower Hobby charges 9.99 for 2 day service and so do most other hobby suppliers..

These are my cost to send you a part from the warehouse… Not to mention it is 7 miles round trip to the warehouse to get your part. It is 6 miles round trip to the post office the get your part shipped out to you. Remember I am still a small operation right now.

$1.50 Shipping Envelope (If I use a box $2.50)
$3.50 Average Postage for First Class USPS. I am required to track all shipments ( some cost a little less but most cost more)
$1.00 Shipping Label Materials (This is an average cost as well i.e. invoice, label, tape and so on)
$?.?? My time and effort to get the parts, bag them, label them, take them to the post office. I stand in line most days about 30 minutes to insure you parts are in the system.

So on average my real cost is about $6.00 to ship you a part not to mention my fuel cost or my time. I am out about 1.0 hours of my time for each customer that I send a part to. I can see it from you side but hopefully this will help you understand my side and why it cost you $10.00 to ship a $7.99 part.

Thanks for listening…

Joe

That said I can remember my dad payed .05 per gallon of gas, look what it sell for now, and by the way all of the other chim's in crud oil is worth a lot more the the gas as it is just a buy product of the cracking system, but they doe have to do some clean up to make it worth while.

Sorry about the preaching

Hi Joe,
Actually Tower has parts saver shipping. Its 2.99 and 4.99 for USPS priority mail.
I understand that youre a small business but $10 shipping on a $8 part just doesnt make sense to me.
I dont know maybe its me..
Also why wouldnt you have your courier pick up the parcels to be shipped?
A buck fifthy seems a little much for an envelope, then again whutta i know.

Thanks for listening to one of your customers. =)

Ditto on the above. I bought a gasket set and it came in an envelope with a stamp on it but was charged a high shipping price.

Doesn't set well.

Gentlemen,

I hear you, When RCGF started this 2+ years ago I agreed to stay on but frankly I do not own any part of this. I told RCGF back then we should charge US prices and give free shipping. RCGF factory decided as long as I am here willing to put up with this, they will charge China prices for your parts and $10.00 for shipping. My guess is once I am gone and they have to come up with a Hobby Supplier to deal with this, you will pay US prices for most of the parts and get free shipping. US prices should be 30% to 40% more that what you are currently paying. Because I am just the worker bee if you would like to voice a complaint please feel free to send an email to [email protected] I am sure they will be happy to take any constructive input you have, but be carful what you ask for.

Kind Regards,

The Bee

Does anyone know if the new beam mount crankcase will fit the older standoff engine. One lug broke off and there seems to be no parts for it.

Re: using a beam mount crank case to replace the radial mount crank case, maybe Joe can confirm, but thinking the transfer ports are different, one vs. the other. They will not line up.

The top ends for both 15cc engines are the same. I am old school and I do like the rear mount a little better for scale apps. In fact I still have a couple brand new Rear Mount 15s that were left over from my SWAV Hobby store stock. I want to put them on a small B25.

RD,
if you need cases for your RCGF 15cc RM I still have some lower cases for it also left over from my old store. Let me know….

You guys that are complaining about shipping, get real, you buy on line you pay shipping one way or another. Do you guys work for free???? So why do you think someone should take your parts to the Post Office for nothing??? If you don't like the shipping price buy it somewhere else!
