Im running the 10cc on one 2100mah 2s life battery for everything. I use a rcxcel ignition kill switch modified to work as a ibec.
No problems running the ignition thats rated up to 8.4 volts.

it is 10" inches wide. I want to stay in the 70 inch something

I just got my RCGF Twin 40 only to find out it is 10" wide. Wondering what planes it would fit without a lot of modifying and stay in the 30 to 40 cc range?

I feel it is easier to have the pump in the carb.

Default Rcgf 20 twin

I was thinking of putting a RCGF 20 twin on a Hots 60 size. But running a 16 to 17 inch prop might be an issue. Has anyone out there run a 3 blade prop on the 20, if so what size and performance did you have.

Wally it's been a long time sense I have looked this up but from memory, you would drop 1 inch in dia and at least 1 inch in pitch.
But before you jump I would google for a prop data chart

Good luck

15x8 or 15x10 3-blade would work. Master Airscrew sells them.

Wondering how important the choke is on the 15cc is.
I could make it choke by running the rod straight back.
I would have to take the hatch off to choke.
I don't see a good option for a bell crank.

NCRC,
You could run the rod forward.
A servo arm works well as the rod guide. Heat and bend to make it work.

OK, I got a chance to run the 15cc today.
It started only if over half throttle.
Had to richen the low needle to get it to run
at 2600rpm for 20 minutes by two blade widths.

Is it ready to fly now? What realistic idle should
i try to obtain before flying?
Do I adjust idle by low end needle?
What kind of time should I expect out of my engine battery?

Keep in mind this is my 1st gas engine.

This is just me but I would try to get about an hour run time at all throttle settings before you fly it, and unless the MFG info page says different try to get an idle of about 1800 RPM's and make sure you get smooth transitions particularly LO to Hi.

I like to run a.few tanks through it and make sure I have it to where I'm satisfied with the way it runs.
Some say to tune it and fly.

I help a friend out yesterday getting his 15 to run. He had another friend try to get it running before me. They got it running but would stall with the choke fully opened. It ran fine with it half closed. He bought a new ignition for it thinking that was the problem.

When I got there the new e.i. was was one that ran on 4.8to 6 volts. Noticed he was using an older 4.8 nicd battery for the ignition.
I swapped it out back to the original ignition and used a 6.6 volt life battery. The original is the new hv one.
Sure enough with some needle tweaking we got her purring.. and he had a big smile on his face.
looks like a nice little engine .

Just a comment what you found with the needles is common with newbee's to gas and we all have to learn, that said some of the engines get run at the factory for Q/C reasons maybe 1 out of 20. I have found in the last 30 years of gas engines it is bet to start with the factory setting in the paper work rather than as the engine comes, and generally I have found a good starting point is 1 1/2 turn open on both and go from there.

But that is just me

Thats exactly what i did but went two turns out and tweaked it from there.

One more comment, The low speed needle is the most critical, and some tines hard to find the sweet spot, as it is flowing fuel at all throttle settings
The hi needle just supplies the additional fuel needed to go to peek RPM'S, and once you find the peek always richen the hi needle just enough 100 rpm's to keep from over heating the engine

Hope this helps

Cheers Bob T
