Default DL-50 or GRRC GF50I

I've been flying jets for the last 12 YEARS and am looking to take a step aside/away.
I'm very interested in the Aero-works yak54 (50cc) I've been researching all over the interenet looking for the best engine (for the price) and I've narrowed it down to the GRRC 50 or the DL 50. Am i headed in the wrong direction?? I KNOW ALMOST NEXT TO NOTHING ABOUT GAS ENGINES/AIRMFRAMES
Please help me and show me the way.
looking for help from people with experience with these engines AND NOT THE COMPETITORS.
If you had a choice between these two engines which one would you choose?
Thanks

The DL 50 wins hands down. This engine currently has quite a following and is developing a reputation for being reliable, powerful, lightweight, and reasonably priced with very good after sales service and spares availibility if the need arises from the US based dealer/distributor.

DL-50. Almost as good as the DA-50 for less money.

Never seen the other engine and I fly a lot and see a lot of planes around me.

if your talking about the crrc gf50i, I bought one for a verry low price and its a good deal for what you pay. I did have to retard the timing for it to run correctly but for $230 shipped it beat any other engine out there. I still havent flown it but I have ran it on my bench and it runs perfect (after I adjusted the timing). I have never had a DL but I got the crrc because for the price it won over the $390 price on the DL.

I'm buying a plane today that had a DA-50 on it, are either one of these engines have the same exact mount? I'm new to gas.

There is an overwhelming variety of help here...and most of it is very good, qualified input for you. You asked about two specific engines. I've owned and ran 5 DL 50's through the years since they were new. Very good power and reliability for the money, lots of them out there, mufflers interchange with DA 50 sized stuff, and they have two (or more) service points in the US.

*PASS* on the other one.

Alright, enough already!! you guys easily persuaded me, and confirmed my suspicions. The DL 50 it is. Thanks very much for all your help.

Now where is the best place to buy one?? valleyviewrc looks like a good start. (anyone with experience ordering from here?)
Im actually looking towards the aeroworks yak54/dl50 combo. Where is the best place to get one?
Regards,
Don

For the engine also check DLUSA, and for the airframe check Chief's Aircraft.
