Default Sig 4* 120

I'm looking for setup info for installing a G26 on a 4* 120. Does anyone have pictures etc. Any advice on standoffs or mufflers?

Thanks

Lol...obviously a little misunderstanding there, but the thought of the G62 in a 4 star 120 got a giggle out of me. I think the 26 would be ok for sport flying in the 120 4 star...but I have never done it, so I don't have pictures to offer.

Any decent aftermarket exhaust will give you at least 300rpm increase over the stock muffler, a good prop would be any very good wood, or carbon 18x6...or an APC 17x6, 16x8. I would advise against standoffs for this engine, as it will weaken the rigidity of the case. Use hardwood or plywood spacers instead, to keep the rear plate on a flat surface.

arobatx Thanks for the info! I didn't know to even think about the rigidity of the case. I think i'll go with a shorter prop for the ground clearance.

The good news, is that with Zenoah, over-revving the engine is a lot further up the RPM range than most OEM engines will ever see. They have been raced and tortured since the beginning, and can take it. You do want to keep it where it makes the most power though, to get the most out of your engine/prop combo. So prop it for something close to 9000rpm.... Heli's run 10000rpm all day long with this engine, as does the air version of the engine with a tuned pipe and good 18x6 prop. So don't be afraid to let her turn up a bit, experiment with props, keep it close to or a bit above 9000rpm, and enjoy!
