Default Changing to a more efficient ignition on the Zenoah G20

Hello. I'm considering getting the G20 as my first gasser. I heard some stories/rumors (call it what you will) on the power hungry G20 stock ignition setup and also heard that there's a conversion that you can get to remedy the situation. Can anyone give me a link for a conversion website or a retailer that sells these conversions or point me in the right direction? Any opinions on this switch would also be appreciated.

It's not a story or a rumor, it's the truth. An RC exl ignition from CH Ignitions is an ideal replacement for the Zenoah unit and is basically a plug and play affair.

I can not over state the positive experience I have had with www.ch-ignitions.com/

I have owned a Zenoah G20 for a few years now. Not long after I purchased this great little engine I had to send it back to Zenoah. They were very good at servicing it and sent it back to me with a new ignition. Not long after I  continued to have problems and guys at the club kept telling me to sell the G20.

Bottom line is it took me no longer than an hour to take out the Zenoah ignition and install the C. H. Ignition. My only regret is that I had not purchased the CH ignition a few years ago! The G20 sounds great, starts right up and my life with the G20 has changed dramatically.

The C. H. Ignition for this engine is a must! Yes I need to say that the folks at C. H. Ignitions gave me superior service to boot.

How did I find out about this great solution? RC Universe and Karol.

Thanks so much Karol

Dave

Thank you Karol,
We have sold over 100 ignition conversions for the G-20 . The G 20 is a monster little engine . I do not have one but TKG does . It turns somthing like 9100 on a 17x6 He has a mini pipe on it.
I have a G 26 on a Ultra lite stick also a great little motor.On C&H of course.

YESshange tthe CDI and be a happy man.... After ging tru s much frustration on my first gasser (G20) I discovered that the CDI was sucking way too much power..using the RCexcel on my G20 now and been having so much fun flying my Extra..

BTW Karolh - Its back to Z Power...

Now i a, thinking of a G26ei to power up my 72"span CG Sukhoi 26 MX Kit...

Good for you Najee. That CG Sukhoi sounds like a real good matchfor a G26, and of course we all know which ignition it will be running on. I have a RC Ign.converted G23 /CH ignition anda G20 /RCexl ignition and neither have missed a beat from day one.
