Can the carb on the G26 be rotated 180 Deg.? What would be a good mah rating for 4.8v pack for ignition ? Thank you for any info you can provide. New to gas as well as to this site.

I have a question also regarding the stock ignitions. Why is it that amp draw goes down with voltage? It seems like more voltage would allow the ignition to run cooler. The single cell lipos are getting lower amp draws than the 4.8volt packs.

With electic motors more voltage allows more work for less amps.

I had the sanyo 2700mah nimh batterys in mind. Using a battery holder and 3 with the AA 2700mah cells will give you 3.6 volts so the igniton should run about the same as a 1 cell lipo.

Big long scientific talk in small words.... The more the battery voltage, the more more current the ignition draws
Most of the units for model use have a simple oscillator and do not have a voltage regulator built in.

What's the mAH capacity of the LiPo you're comparing to?

ec135mx,

Get ahold of Ralph Cunningham at RC Ignitions. He can set you up with a rotator block with the flat head bolts for $20.00 shipped. The stock G26/EI seems to be a bit of a battery hog so you may want to use something around 1800 mah or higher. The G26 you get from RC Ignition will run all day on a 1000 mah pack.
