Agreed; that's why I won't fly my engines with the Coleman fuel. I'm only using it as a storage means. Coleman fuel is just too low an octane to use as an engine fuel in my opinion. Just ask any engine manufacturer what octane they recommend for their engines. I am sure nobody is going to say less the 87; certainly not 50 to 60!!

As far as the diaphragms, I don't know how one would be assured of buying new stock. I have numerous kits, and even a batch of 20 diaphragms that I bought, and no way to know if they are new design or old. Anyway, I think I have solved my problem in another manner.

I can understand the odor issue fo some but it makes me wonder how they tolerated the smell and goop associated with glow fuel had they been flying that previously.
Goop, yes. That's the reason I got out of glow. But the smell. What smell? A few years ago my fuel jug tipped over and the cap came off and I spilled a half gallon of glow fuel in the back of my RAV, the carpet in the back was saturated. I took them out at the field mopped it up as best I could. I could barely detect it on the way home where I did a more thorough cleanup. Spill 2 drops of gasoline in your car and you'll smell it for a week. Huge difference between glow fuel and gas.

All reasons why I'm going all electric. Selling all my glow stuff.
I'd like to do some gas models so I'm just researching my options right now.

Now I've gone and done it....

Hey, just teasing, I actually have 3 electrics in my fleet. (Don't tell anybody though, 'cause I'll deny it.)

Hey Rocko

My stuff's all electric too except my current project. I tossed around the idea of going electric with it but my Sig 1/3 Spacewalker on electric power would mean some pricey packs. I have another giant in the works that will be electric, a Sig 1/5 scale Cub. Of course a Cub is an easy plane to power and I already have one pack that will work with it.

My current project is a Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 54".
I'm torn on this one...I'm going back and forth between 1500W electric or a gas engine. Possibly the MLD-28S.
To keep this on topic, maybe I'll use camping fuel if I go with the MLD-28S.

Well,
thanks to all of you for chiming in on this subject. John Pompa just flew his Reactor again today. It does not seem to have any power loss at all. It climbs to vertical at about three quarters throttle and it hovers at about a little less than half throttle. The bird weighs in at 17.4 pounds. I brought my postal scale to the field just so I could weigh his bird. He runs a DL-50. The whole time he flies he just laughs and compliments Great Planes, DL, and Coleman fuel. He split the ailerons and put 4 servos in the wings to set up CRO. He switches into CRO and just laughs at how it slows down. He is a trip. Fun to watch him fly.
Thanks.

I wish they would do a reactor bipe in this size. I'd be all over that!
I love my EP Reactor Bipe.
