Sure, you can do anything. Me I would just use Nitrous Oxide with a carb. Nice and simple. Next would be Nitrous with fuel injection.

Injection works pretty good though. All it takes is lot's of money, a great machinest, and someone to build and set up the computer controls.

If you need more power from a 70cc engine then buy a 100cc engine instead. It will weigh less than a turbo and EFI would add to the 70cc engine. AND it would be way happier than a turboed 70cc engine

I don't know if YOU can, but if you do, you might be the first to succeed.

Sure, for a quarter of a mile, how practical would that be on one of our toy airplanes? I'm sure it's been done though in the USRA but outside of that application I can't imagine it's benefiet unless you want to study debris fields. [8D]

That must be an awesome ride!

I had a stock Banshee in 1989 and it was pretty intense. My favorite of any of the ATV's I had, including the Suzuki Quadzilla!

I never quite understood how a 2 stroke could be supercharged or turbocharged since the air fuel charge ends up first in the crankcase, I would think too much pressure would inhibit the piston moving down on the power stroke. But apparently it does work.

Point is though, to turbo or supercharge an engine plus adding fuel injection makes absolutely no sense if your goal is strictly to have a more powerful engine because , as stated, it's cheaper and easier to simply use a larger engine. So unless you want to do it simply because you want to do it, there are better options.

Those Quadzillas are sick. I have a Raptor 700 now with a few mods.

I would take a mighty big bottle of spray for an injected engine to run on an hours contunous basis. The weight would more than offset an power gain.

Looks like I might finally need to carry a fire extenguisher to the field for those moments when someone blows up an engine. And all this time only the turbine drivers needed one all the time. This could be fun to watch

Just wait until the hue and cry starts over the cost of this stuff I can see it now, "I cant' afford to play at that price and it's not fair if I can't afford it".... I'll just stay with a more appropriately sized engine for the application.

Ah, you'll just have to wait until my Chinese friends get into the game, it'll be easier on you then.

Nitrous is safe. Kabooms happen when the user does not tune it properly or does not equip the engine with strong enough parts. Stock engines can use a little bit of spray. I'd open up the ring gap a little bit though and back the timing off a smidge.

Do you realize how many people and manufacturers you covered with that sentence?

No wonder Detroit is going out of busniess, they've been wasting their time for 60 years.

Except for a Drip troit!
I am sure the use of intake and exhaust valves has something to do with it.

Wow, have not heard one of those screamers going down the road in years! Back in the day, I spent many miles rowing my way down the highways behind several of those including the 6-71, 8V71 and even the short lived 350 HP turbo-charged 8V71. I think these had zero torque and always leaked and left oil puddles on the ground. They were great at turning massive amounts of fuel into noise and smoke! Most had pliar marks on the governors where their drivers turned up the RPM to an acceptable level to make them driveable. You did learn to shift a 13 speed with them though! I couldn't believe how bad they were until I drove my first Cummins 350 and learned what the word torque really meant.

Back on thread .... I can't imagine what use a turbo charger would be on a 2 stroke model engine. Unless a guy just wanted to experiment.

Carl Heap from Grants Pass Oregon set the world speed record for a diesel truck 8/15/02 at 263.487 mph with a 2 stroke V-16-92. It had 4 turbochargers and 2 superchargers. The truck was a 1943 International K-7. It went faster at a later date but I forgot the speed. Its speed limit was always lack of traction and streemlining, not horsepower. Turbo's and blowers work on a Detroit 2-stroke because of the exhaust valves in the cyl. head's. Carl ran well over 100 psi turbo boost. These engines run on a diffrent principal than our small 2-stroke's. By the way. the largest diesel engine in the world is a 2-stroke diesel.
