Which Vess for dl50?
Hello!!!
I'm from Poland. I can buy 22B or 23B. Only these two types of Vess are available here. I have DL50 on standard exhaust and fly 3D. Which prop should give me better overall performance?

RE: Which Vess for dl50?
BTW, forgot to mention;
I did a static pull test the other day, on a DL50 with JXF 23x8 prop (on a 2,16m YAK54): 14,5 kg of sustained pulling force!.. very nice..

50cc best Vess prop is the 23B. Tryed them all, thats the best all around size.

RE: Which Vess for dl50?
What rpm where you getting on 23 x 8 in prop when you ran the test. I have recently completed a Magic hand Cap 232 and I am using a 22 x 10 wooden JXF prop, temperatures are very high so havnt leaned it to peak, its giving me 6600 RPM. The plane was tail heavy so I had to add about 1.75 lb nose to get the CG right, now I have a extremely heavy 19.5 lb model at hand and I am not getting enough thrust for IMAC. What kind of RPM or Thrust can I expect at 600 ft ASL/105 F. Suggestions and help will be appreciated by all flyboys.

you should be getting around 300-350 RPM more with 22x10 JXF. dont run the engine rich. - just allow proper air flow for the engine and it should be fine.
The rpm reading with 23x8 JXF was around 6300-6350. seal evel
Im using 32:1 Castrol 2T mineral oil.
If you want to lighten your model, I suggest move all possible stuff as forward as possible, use a heavy aluminum spinner, put longer stand-offs for the engine. this way, you can remove some dead-weight.
Then, change your main and rear landing gears to carbon fibre, get some light-weight wheels, use smaller capacity batteries. Remove any unnecessary stuff out of the airframe.
At the end, the plane will transform into a new beast..

RE: Which Vess for dl50?
Better performance is subjective.
a 22B will give you better raw pull out of a hover.
23B will give you lower throttle needed for rolling harriers etc. edit: This doesn't quite make sense. What I meant is you will need less throttle input with the larger prop to keep the plane rotating and the nose up.

EXACTLY,all you half to do is a little tail touching and you would know the felling.
also the 22-b would be like a 22-8,i like the 22-a,great spool up and yanks the tail off the deck.

RE: Which Vess for dl50?
I have managed to get rid of some of the nose wt by a little shifting, going to fly in the morning with a 22 x 8 and see how she flys. Thanks for all of your inputs. Junaid
