Had YAK out today, went real good. I have the choke working good and so over did it on the first two starts, used Friends starter because to much gas!! After that engine started on first flip, I almost was not ready for the first one flip start.
Put in four fifteen minute flights, leaned low end and may still be just fat. Ran good, so i am a happy camper!
Using Stihl HP ULTRA at 40/1.
Thanks
Tom P

Yes for sure need to get one! Can break it in in a snow blower through the winter and be ready for spring! They sound like a hit! Bob

UAW worker here ..... if you don't know all the inner workings of corporations ... don't even go there. I'm a very hard worker , work for my wages , and if it were not for the union the company would have kicked me to the curb.
Well AJ I don't have a thing against any union, I am represented by one myself. Where my issue came from was that Amercan tax dollars were used to support a failing business that between a union leadership that demanded to much and a company leadership that made terrible business moves put itself in a position to fail. And now that they have went into bankrupcy we will never see any of that money back.
Now as for buying American I have a Dodge Dakoda, Ford Freestar, and Ford ZX2. I also have a Yamaha Roadliner because I just don't like the Harley look, not because of the price. I like this motor and have waited to pull the trigger to see how it preforms in the real world.

Yep , This thread is all about a motor that has been developed .
Please, if we keep it to that subject then this thread will not get out of hand as it has tended to do
We all want to know how it performs, if those that have this engine can post results of their experiences that would be great .
Regards
Graeme

I think it's one of those plastic kits, Like by Revell or Monogram. You put them together with that smelly glue that melts the plastic

Bueller....Bueller.....

I have had mine for a while now. Even have a brand new Pilot Yak to put it in, but I am saving up for an RCGuys Decathlon to put it in instead. I'll buy another Syssa for the Yak later if I like it. Not much good Flying between now and Spring anyway (they won't let me fly Gas at the indoor winter fly-ins)

I got the smaller Seagull 1.20 Decathlon. I was going to go with the RC guys but figured I try this one. It had a slight crack on the left wing tip <fixed> and started tightening up the covering. I have Futaba servo's 3151 digitals and JR's DS 821's but not sure what ones I'm going to use yet. I might start assembling this week end.

With all the interest in this engine, I'm quite surprised we have not had more pilot reports about its performance. I couldn't wait to get mine in the air. More talking lately about what plane guys are going to mount the engine in rather than talk about the engine itself. Anybody heard from Todd lately? I thought he might chime in about some of the flight reports.

I have a few more observations about my engine I will post in a day or so. Time is too short to keep typing right now.

Todd,

I'm going to give you a call tomorrow addressing the setup for the kill switch.

There is a report in the Pattern forum http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9237216/tm.htm by MTK with the SAP 180 on a pipe. It has the list with prop/RPMs/lbs of Pull listed along with some other stuff. Bottom line is that it is a great engine just as it is - stock.

Little hard to give a flight report when it still hasn't arrived.

I feel your pain. I waited one day short of 3 months for mine to arrive! My first flights tell me the wait was worth it though. At least I got a few flights in before winter hit and that was my main concern.

Talked to Todd on the phone yesterday and he said my engine would be shipping out on Saturday or Monday. Looking forward to getting this engine. I will mount it on a friends plane to start with because mine is not finished yet. I will report back when we try it out. I will be doing mostly 3D with it.
