Dont really know. My contact info is the same as everybody else's. I guess the difference is that we've been talking about this for a couple of years. the time just got right.

Barry,

You can order many of the parts from the Syssa Aircraft website. I ordered some (late last year), and they came through to me without a problem, though it was a couple of weeks. According to some of the guys, they've ordered some parts that way and had good luck.

Talked to Todd yesterday. He's working with the web company to get my Syssa account set up on his website. Under the contact page, you'll see my name (Steve) in the list of email contacts. You shouldn't have any problem ordering parts from the website right now. My inventory should show up this next week. Todd is preparing all the technical documents that I need and as soon as it hits my door, you guys will be the second to know.

Sounds encouraging, Steve.

It pumps me up a little to know that I can pull out that model with the 30CC Syssa in it and get it going, with the knowledge that I can get service and parts. It's really quite the powerhouse, and has always been a strong, dependable engine.

Thanks for your reply Steve. Hope you get my engine in the shipment in the next few days. It is supposed to get updated and the new style muffler. I sent the IBEC with it, so it should be in a plastic bag with the engine.

Best regards

I'll call Todd in the morning as soon as I get everything settled down. My "last" first day of school. Already have a lady coming in to file a formal complaint and school hasn't even started!! Geez, I don't know how I've done this for 31 years. But, it'll be OK. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow evening.

Steve,

I know just what you mean. I went to college to become a teacher, and long before I graduated, I realized that - earlier rather than later - I'd end up fired and named in a lawsuit for "educating" some spoiled entitled brat, and showing him which way the wind really blows.

There are times I pat myself on the back for having the foresight to avoid such possibilities and pursue more lucrative avenues, but the reality is that teachers are people who I cannot hope to truly understand, because they have something that, as cocky as I am about myself most of the time, they have something that I don't have. Something I never have had. Every day they put it on the line, always with an axe hanging over their heads, liable for everything, and given less and less all the time to do it with. We depend upon teachers to imbue our children with values and integrity, to bring out the best in them, and at the same time, we undermine the very ground they stand on, take away the tools and the authority that they need to do their job. You should be proud that you've made it 31 years, and I can see why you'd like to find something new. The teaching world isn't what it was years ago.

Carry on bravely.

Jim

Thanks for the kind words. It is certainly different than it was when I started to school back in the late 50's. It has changed so much in the last 5-7 years. Guns, knives, entitlements, both the government type and the silver spoon type, and then the attitude of parents that it's always, always, someone else's fault. Usually mine, I had to replace 40% of my teaching staff, 1/2 of my professional staff. I feel really sorry for whoever takes my place next year. I have no idea how they're going to overcome the shortage with the salaries the way they are now. God bless them all. I'm going flying.

Quit TV over 18 years ago, but do know things are bad out there, I still listen to radio, here if you just set the cruise on at speed limit or slightly under, police don't take a second look, and for me don't drink or any of the stupid stuff. So no problems, for sure not saying all cops are good, be like saying all cops are bad, neither fits, but I sure don't give them a reason to stop me and if they do am pleasant with them, anyway I'm home when not working building, and on good days flying, love this hobby, Good things pope be careful out there!

Lets get back to talking about Syssa 30's and let the social phenomena go?

I would hate to get involved with being a policeman in the thread.

Im sorry to say, no. I've sent him a couple of emails and called 2-3 times. No response. It's not the first time. He gets busy and I have to just keep trying. I think that once we get this off the ground it'll be fine. Just in case anyone was wondering, I get just as frustrated as everyone else. But I remain optimistic!!!! And very excited to get started and help everyone with their engines.

i spent all of today, working at the preparations for West Texas Warbirds. I had the opportunity to assist several guys with their engines and fly a couple of my planes. Sure juiced me up. Can't wait to get started.

Do some straight talking with him, Steve. YOU have to have communications with Todd, even if nobody else has any. Set up a private email address that's just for your private use, and give it to nobody else. You MUST keep the channels open and honest between you and Todd; without that, we're all back to square one. He's been vague with too many of us because he doesn't keep track of a large percentage of the jobs at hand. He needs to send those straight through to you, and make a note of each and send it to you for your records. Maybe he can hire a high-school kid,or several high-school kids to do the extra shipping and recording notes after school. SIG used to do that, as did A+A enterprises, to try and handle to high flow. Avoiding the extra costs to cut corners is the kiss of death when it causes a stagnant flow of product and services.

Jim
