Definatly not something I'd try. I guess their safety standards are a little different.
On another note I was surprized at first on the carb set up as well. But when you think about the target this engine is designed for it needs to be very short to fit into allot of the 120 size planes. At least going with a side carb/rear induction it isn't as wide as it would have been it they had put the reeds on the side of the crank like some engines.
They could have put carb and reeds in rear of engine, but the way it is done allows a lot bigger/better designed reed valve to be used. That was the idea I think. Capt,n

Hi

Post # 10 in this thread says the weight for everything is 2.4 lbs. Since I'm sorta slow, is everything the motor, standoffs, ignition and muffler? Is it a bisson type muffler?

Thanks
Chuck

Weight for everything is 2.605 lbs
Engine only 2.08

The muffler on this engine is not a bisson-type.

wow 8400rpm on a 18x8. That's a powerful 30cc engine. Might be a good engine for the soon to be released 74" EF Extra. Wonder how it performs on a tuned pipe.

I've done the test and taked the video. The prop was a well balanced and drilled MENZS wood 18x8 .
You don't have to doubt about this video. If you don't believe it's true , buy a DLE30 and test for rpm .....
This is when engine ONLY have 1'5 liters of gas. (less than 1/2 gal. of fuel) Thats the reason i only go full throttle for a moment. I think when ring are seated and break-in finished it will outperforms this numbers.
Also i tested the engine with a 20x8 prop. Almost 7000 rpm.

I'm sold. I'm ordering mine tonight or tomorrow. I have some Xoar 17x8's left over from another engine, and hope to be able to use those, at least for break in. I'll have enough clearance for an 18x8 but would prefer to stay with the 17" props. Any idea of the max safe rpm of this motor?

I agree. Sorry for upload this video. Never take RPM in front of engine running as DLE instructions says
I know this way can be dangerous, but i only do it when i'm sure prop cannot fly off :
- New propeller - No cracks - Prop balanced in two axes - Holes for 4 screws well alingned - Screws tunrs by hand without difficult and are secured with loctite and thigtened with dynamometric wrench , Test at hi rpm and only for a while ... - No engine vibration .... Also the tower tach has difficult to work behind the propeller on this sunny day.

Again:

Don't let people stand in front af a running engine.
.
EDITED to add my last post in this thread:
Don't worry: I don't sell DLE engines. When people ask me for a dealer in my country , and none in stock on our hobby shops, always i let him know the distributors in USA or Australia : ValleyViewRC , DLUSA and DLAustralia to get the engines ........as official dealers.

I think the DLE 30 look's to be a real winner of an engine however I had thought that it would have had a starting price of $260.00 If you think about the price between the DLE30 and the DLE 50 is only $80.00 difference,

My two cents
