Look what was in my mailbox...
I am going to try it this morning on my AW Edge 540 with a DLE111 in it. Xoar now has C.F. props in 18x8, 22x10, 23x8, and 27x10. More sizes to come....

Fun!!! It will be interesting to see how they compare with other good performing carbon alternatives. Keep us posted. Is it a full 27"? What does it weigh?

I don't have a postal scale. I did make a balancing beam from a 36" carpenters level. The C.F. Xoar is just a hair heavier than the standard beech Xoar and way less than my Mejzlik or laminated Xoar props. It is 27 1/8" long.

RE: Look what was in my mailbox...
Well I got to run the prop but did not get to fly as the winds were a little too crazy and I didnt want to risk a new plane doing a maiden in bad conditions. As for the prop it pull like a mule on the ground and actually showed higher rpm's than the Mejzlik. The Mejzlik was turning 6450 hot and the Xoar was turning 6580. This is the first time I have seen a Xoar turn higher rpm than a Mejzlik. I don't know if it is from the light weight or a slight change in profile from the wood props. The size and shape are almost identical to the wood Xoar with the exception of the tip which has a slightly different curve to it. I wish I had a fish scale or something to test the static pull with. Either way I am looking forward to flying with it. I also just placed an order for another one and a 23x8 while I was at it to try on my Python with a DLE55.

I really like the xoar props. I have a 17X8 coming for my XYZ26, have two Xoar 22X12 threebladed (one counterrotating) for my Fork Tailed Devil, and a Xoar WWI simitar 24X10 for my 1/3 scale Fokker D-VIII. These are all wood props, I do luv the Mejzlik Carbon Fibers. I've been flying a Mejzlik 22X12 threeblade on my Stuka for 15 years and I've been happy with it all these years, but if Xoar is giving more power for the same size prop, I'll switch in a heartbeat.

Saw some dyno prop results from a 100cc engine the other day. Biela and Mejzlik. The Mejzlik out turned the Biela but the Mejzlik did not produce any more torque. It really did not require a dyno to know that would be the case. Mejzliks make a lot of rpm....

Yes don't assume more rpm equals more power. The most basic test would be to use a scale to measure static pull. The true test will come in the flying. I would love to see someone with T.O.M.'s credentials and equipment test one. Either way I like what I have seen so far. I still cannot get over how light it is compared to the Mejzlik.

Ok...I went to the post office and weighed 4 of my props, a Xoar PJA beech, a Xoar PJD laminated, a Xoar PJT C.F., and the Mejzlik C.F.
Xoar PJA wood..........167grams
Xoar PJD laminated.....219grams
Xoar PJT C.F.............178grams
Mejzlick C.F...............268grams
While I have them off of the planes here is a pic of all of them together and a pic of the tip profiles.

OK here are the measurements..
Mejzlik
Length 26 15/16"
Max blade-width 1-31/32"
Hub thickness 1"
Hub width 2.25"
edit: the Mejzlik hub is tapered and is almost 2-3/8" on the back side.
Xoar CF
Length 27-1/8"
Max blade thinkness 1-31/32"
Hub thickness 1-1/32"
Hub width 2-1/8"
The Mejzlik blades a slightly wider where they join onto the hub than the Xoar. The Xoar blades are slightly wider towards the tips than the Mejzlik.
