RE: Why there isnt a DLE150/170?
Oh geez. The way I see it, nothing between the 111 and 222 saved them from the wrath of inexperience causing a crash. From what I've seen to date the less expensive the product the greater number of crashes blamed on the engine, and drawing out the fact the engine was their first gasser is like pulling teeth from someone on amphetemines. So what we should soon be reading will be about some newbies re-kitting $3,500.00 worth of airplane after they jumped straight into the big stuff because they got them cheaper.
I sure hope it does not mirror the two other designs currently on the market. That would not be cool.

I hear what your saying but lets spin this with a silver lining
I have a friend who almost killed himself after going from a Mustang GT to a Viper. Long story but the "find performance on the cheap" argument applies to every single aspect of our material lives. I for one dont care or hold it personally when someone does something stupid and then blames the product. It has been this way since the dawn of time and will continue to be so until we are worm food.
Life is too short to grumble about things we cant control. I for one am super excited about this new engine and cant wait.
regards
matt

A 42cc or there abouts would be nice. I would fill the gap between the 30 and the 55. It would be perfect for the 27% sized planes with around 76 to 81 inch wingspans like the GP Performance series and the 35cc Aeroworks planes. A 30cc is a little small and the 55 is overkill and runs into problems with prop clearance.

Not that simple. Big singles take a bunch of work to get them to run without shaking everything to pieces. I have chatted with him about the 85 and he is not planning on releasing one, although he did play around with one a bit. Plus it will complete against his 111 sales in his opinion.

Jody,
I too would like to know the release date on the DLE170 when you find out. I have a big 40% YAK that I want this motor on. Hopefully it will be released before the summer flying season gets half way.....
