Saito gas radials..?
Know if there are plans to convert their glow radials into gas like they have done on their single cylinder type.??
nearest is moki 150cc, would be nice if 50cc gas radials emerged

Converting a 5 cylinder radial is going to much more complex than a single or boxer twin cylinder. For startes, you will need 5 ignitions and 5 sensors to fire a single ignition every 72 degrees of crankshaft rotation.
Maybe you can do the conversion and be the first to post it here.

144 degrees? because it is a four stroke? 720 devided by 5?

You are going to have a wasted spark as the ignition fires every 360, but the extra spark will occur at the end of the exhaust stroke, no problem.

3 pickups will get it done. 2 can be in the same orbit but one will need to be in a sepaeate orbit. Wish I had the money to play with this. This would be one sweet engine on gas. Should be able to get by with the 20:1 mix.
Would be nice if RC ignitions would make conversion unit for the Saito radials.
I help a friend that has 2 of these in WWI warbirds and they are nice engines. Another thing that would be nice if Saito made fake cylinders that would bolt on where the heat sinks are.

You've lost me there. If we have a twin ignition that fires both leads at the same time, how will you get it to handle the spark requirements of two cylinders that cannot be fired off evenly like a boxer twin?

Sorry, I had a DA moment. You will need 3 single cylinder ignitions. There will be a trigger for each one. The hall IC's will need to be staggered. 2 of the IC's can be in the same path on the hub. The 3rd will need to be moved out so it does not trigger the other 2.
