Has anybody tried a 3 blade prop and what were your impressions. The reason that I'm asking is that I would like to install my DLE 20 in a trike gear Simla and need prop clearance that I can't get with a 16 or 17'' prop.
Thanks!

Finally found some NGK's locally. (NAPA) Here are some pictures for those who have not seen the difference. I hope this plug cures my stalling, sputtering issue. Find out if the winds ever die down.

We just flew a DLE20 with 16x8 Haoye nylon prop today (not at all a great prop but what we had) , running on 30cc cannister. Man is it a sweet setup. 7800 and quieter than the guy next to us using a saito 100 - was really amazed, in fact in the air you cant even hear it idle

But we need photos and details of how you connected the cannister, and where you got the parts!

Thanks, Charlie and Bob! About 15" is all that I can go with the Simla's gear. The one in the MA article had barely enough clearance with a 15" two bladed prop and an OS 90FX.
Sue would like to see that cannister set-up!

After running the engine for a while, black, oily, residue started coming from the rear muffler bolt. I used the supplied gasket to attach the muffler but did not put any sealant on the bolts. Is it necessary to put something on the threads to prevent leakage of this type? By the way I am using Penzoil 2 cycle for small engines mixed at the recommend 30:1.

Thanks Johnny-Zero that is exactly what I was thinking, just need conformation from someone with more experience with gas engines than I have.

The gasket idea is great. Red lock tight though will be one PINA down the road.

Nordlocks work better and leave no mess. Besides, you heat "Locktite" to remove it, so to use it on an exhaust is marginal.

I have been using this for years, and have never had a muffler come loose. Just a little on the threads and I am good to go.

You guys that are using the Syssa Ultra IBE, what output voltage are you using? The output on the IBE can be jumpered for 5.3V or 6V output. The Ignition module instructions say it can take 4.8V to 7V input. Common sense tells me that the 5.3 setting would be better for battery conservation, but what do I know not having any common sense according to my ex.

Maybe her logic is starting to rub off on you! It is not like a servo, where you get more speed and torque at 6V than 4.8V, the ignition either works or it doesn't, and the higher voltage can reduce its' reliability. At 5.5V it should last forever.

NGK may not be as readily available as Champion in some areas. I like NGK myself and my post was meant in no way to bad-mouth them.

The Champion plugs work OK but they have a larger hex and don't fit the plug cap as well as the NGK, they have a shorter reach as well. An NGK CM-6 will last at least 2 years for those that can properly adjust the carburetor, I have a few that have burned over 50 gallons of gas and still work fine. I rarely put a new plug in my own engines anymore, I use old ones others throw away.
